Soft trousers, big pants, no jeans. Snacks, drinks, phone charger as you'll be in hospital a while. Change of nightwear as you may bleed over it.

Oh, and definitely an extra pillow.

Peppermint tea for trapped wind
Big pants
One pack maternity pads (you won't get so much lochia as with a VB)
Snacks as you'll be in hospital min 2 nights
PJs/loungewear you'd be happy to have visitors see you in
Phone/iPad/Kindle/mags - basically entertainment for you!

When you leave the hospital, stuff a couple of maternity pads down your trousers to shield your wound from the seatbelt. Best tip I ever read on MN!

Knickers that come above the wound. One bottle that does everything for the shower as if you drop something onto the floor it has gone forever!

Flip flops for your massive puffy feet if you get fluid retention

Sports bottle or straws to make it easier to drink!

Extra pillow, yyy. You can rest baby on it, curl up round it, balance your tea on it and cushion your middle from the seatbelt on the way home. And wallop your in laws with it when MIL prances in on day 4 trilling 'are you still in bed? i was up and back in my size 8 pencil skirts on day 3 la la la' Angry

And chocolate.
