Disappearing positive on a Boots test

I'm 10dpo today and this morning (not fmu) I did a Boots test. At first, nothing happened at all, there wasn't even a control line, so I figured I'd bought a dud test. Then, a control line appeared and about 30 seconds later, a faint pink test line. I showed it to my dh and he could see it too. It disappeared after another few minutes though and went completely blank. Did this happen to anyone else, and end in a positive outcome? We are about to embark on another IVF cycle (our third, we have a ds from our second cycle), but I was hoping for a miracle beforehand. I'm probably clutching at straws. I know it's highly likely I used a faulty test.

Oh, and I did a Tesco test (I couldn't get any FR tests in my local Tesco) a couple of hours later and it was a BFN.

I guess I know my answer, not sure why I'm posting really...

Your first test sounds totally dodgy lines shouldn't come and go, but if youv done a 2nd test and got a proper result it's likely your not pregnant. Although if you feel you are take a test again in5 days and see what happens - it's worth a shot.

Thanks justhayley, yeah, I figured as much. Sure it's impossible for us to get pregnant naturally anyway. I don't know what I was thinking. Never buying one of those tests again!!

10dpo is still pretty early no? I didn't have a disappearing line, but it took a little bit longer than the allocated time to appear and then a few days later I got a clearer positive (am now 19 weeks). Test again with fmu tomorrow or the day after?
