Sharp stabbing pains down low

This is my first pregnancy so I don't know what to expect or what this is? I'm 35+3 and over an hour yesterday I got sharp pain low down that didn't really last too long. Strong enough to stop me in my tracks but not too unbearable, is this Braxton hix?

It happened about 5 times over the space of an hour if not less

My midwife says it's your cervix starting to open. Don't panic - I've had this from around 30 weeks and, at 37+3, still haven't given birth so it's probably not a sign of imminent labour!
