Down syndrome testing

I was just wondering how many of you got this done with your first scan and whether you waited for the results to announce the pregnancy or just did it anyway?

I couldn't get the NT scan as baby was in the wrong position. I announced anyway after the scan and have just had bloods taken at 18 weeks!

Yes we had the combined screening. Some people ( not even a handful) knew already but we waited till we had test to tell parents in law.
The nt was very low at scan so we thought it ok tbh so we told them. Had a letter confirming low risk about 4 days later.x

Yes we got this testing done with the scan and waited until the results came through before announcing.

We got the test done buy had already announced!

Parents and in laws knew before the test, test was reported to us as almost confirming DS for baby so had CVS test before anyone else knew, all was clear from that test.

Didn't tell many people until after NIFTY results, although waited until 20 week scan to tell people generally.

We waited to tell parents and siblings until after 12 week scan and downs testing. We're 14 weeks now and holding out as long as possible before telling anyone else.

I hadn't even thought about waiting for the results :/
We had our nt scan on Monday and now everyone knows
God knows what I'd do if results came back bad but now I'm panicking googling the average Nuchal fold at 12+1

I told everyone I was pregnant as soon as I knew, I had a heavy physical job. I didn't have any tests for Downs done at all.

I waited. Scan and bloods made me high risk for Downs and so I had a CVS immediately. That was all clear - only told people after that.

(Except for parents and in laws)

A number of close friends knew I was pg from early on as they had supported me through multiple rounds of IVF, so they knew the outcome of the most recent cycle. We didn't tell family or anyone else until we had the all clear from the 12 week tests though.

I didn't have the option first time round, just the blood tests that give results at 16 weeks. Second time round, I didn't get tested as there didn't really seem to be much point.

I had an early scan at 10 weeks (reassurance scan private) as there was a heart beat we were happy with that and told people. I unfortunately found out later on our baby had downs where we later lost the baby. I've decided now I'm not going to tell anyone till our 20 wk scan. I'm podgy so can get away with it. X
