Hi

I have seen my midwife today for my 38 week appointment (I'm 38 weeks Friday!). She has booked me in for my next appointment in 2 and 1/2 weeks time, when I'll be 40 + 3 and has said at this appointment I can have a stretch and sweep if baby doesn't come before then! However this is my second pregnancy - we already have a 3 1/2 year old DD. At this appointment she will be home with me, and I'm wondering how to manage her, as I don;t really want her seeing me have the S&S. I was wondering how anyone else in a similar situation has managed? Should I see if my mum can have her? so much harder logistically with your 2nd!

The stretch and sweep only takes a few minutes (if I remember correctly). Could you distract DD with a snack and favourite tv show while you pop upstairs to do it?

Thanks Looby. Yes last time I remember them taking around 5 minutes in total. Unfortunately DD1 is going through a very clingy phase - probably because of the impending baby! I think I'll see if my mum can pop over to distract her for a few mins.
