Hi,
I'm 20 weeks pregnant and this evening when I went to the toilet I noticed a large lump of green mucus that was blood stained all through in my pantyliner. Should I be concerned? Thanks

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

hmm, if in doubt then you should contact your midwife team (often you can ring them and leave a non-emergency message).

It sounds a bit like it could be part of your mucus plug, although that isn't meant to come away until full term. I would definitely want to check this with the midwives, just in case it is something like that.

I was going to ring first thing in the morning just very worried now

Ah, sorry Sad. If you are worried you could always go to A & E and they can check you out.

If you haven't got any other symptoms then it could easily be something that isn't a concern.

I don't have any other symptoms so just going to call as soon as pos in the morning and get a mw opinion

I had it at 12 weeks, 20 and 30 weeks. I was told it was normal...although I was freaked out each time.

EllieB1991 · 21/05/2014 00:53

Yea I am slightly freaked out and can't sleep, hope to get some reassurance from mw in the morning

Should add..dd was born at term and perfectly fine. Pink/brown/red tinged in mucous fine. Bright red blood on its own needs to be checked.

At 18 weeks I had a period like bleed, I went up to the hospital and got checked out and they said all was fine. Then this 2 weeks later is worrying me

If in doubt I would get checked ASAP, if its nothing fantastic, if not you will be in the right place xx

Whatever you decide, I hope all is well, which I'm sure it will be.
It sounds like mucas plug to me (or that's what mine looked like)

ExBrightonBell · 23/05/2014 20:23

Hope all is ok Ellie.

I've got the same today at 22 weeks. OP - what was our outcome, could you share please?
