The potentially 5ww: weeks 37-42, niggles? Twinges? What to ignore, and what not to?

Talk to me about the signs of latent/early labour. And not just the contractions that get closer together and more intense. I'm wondering about the niggly twinges in the latent phase. I'm nearly 38 weeks with number 1 (and don't say I'll go late just because it's number 1), and I find myself symptom spotting far worse than I ever did in the 2ww.

What I want to know is: what should be ignored entirely? What is potentially significant?

Nausea? With or without vomiting...?
Diarrhea? But is it still significant if it goes on for a month?
Back ache? If it's new at 38 weeks and not had it before, is that potentially significant?
Braxton hicks? And can BH make you bump ache all over as if you've been working out?
Painful bump in general?
Cramping at the top of your bump. Or is it just lower cramping that's significant?
Loads of vaginal discharge? Not waters or plug, but discharge. Does it increase quite a lot before labour or not?

Anyone else want to add more to the list of niggles at the end of pregnancy? Anything you've been wondering about, too? I feel like I'm going to go nuts over the next possibly 4 weeks!

Any more symptoms today ladies?

I just found this interesting survey about due dates. There are lots of extra plots and stats in the links at the bottom of the page. I'm a stats geek so I love this kind of stuff! Looks like around half of the babies had arrived by 40+3, and 75% by 42 weeks.

DC1 was born at 42 weeks and had to be induced, surely DC2 can't be any fucking later than that??? Angry
I know that your EDD is estimated date but a week after that when nothing was happening I turned into a real psych bitch from hell.

This time I was a bit wiser and very vague answering the question "when are you due" as the last time texts, mails and phone calls made my mouth froth and my piss to boil!

I'm still enduring the phoney war here...daily BH that are bad enough to make me stop in my tracks, good practice I suppose. The antibiotics are working so I feel better mentally ( UTI can get your down, yesterday I was a bag of tears and trauma but much perkier today!)

Seeing midwife tomorrow, might plead for a quick sweep although got one booked in for next Tuesday.
Am dreading not going into labour and having to have a ELCS as I'm trying for a VBAC and they don't induce. Weirdly, if I end up having a section in labour, then at least I could have tried.
Hope everyone else well ...anyone had any success?
