I'm 35 weeks and driving myself crazy! I'm so uncomfortable and this heat isn't helping. I'm constantly expanding, my jeans are getting too tight but it seems silly to buy anymore now.

I just want him out, he must be just about big enough by now!

Anyone else feeling the same?

With my first I was in a 34L for breastfeeding after being a G cup prior to pregnancy - they grew like crazy! So it is possible. Might be best to try the F cup to check that is the right fit now, going up or down as necessary, and then size up for feeding from wherever you end. Also when putting the bra on, fasten back strap then lean forward at 90degrees while you put the shoulder straps on to get the max amount of boob in the bra. And adjust with your hands to make sure none is spilling out below or at the sides. You need a good fumble around to fill a bra properly!

I would heartily recommend double checking on one of the bra intervention threads that I have calced it right as I'm not an expert :)

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 02/06/2014 20:13

I make that a 34F as well, Roseberry. Try it and see - honestly, my boobs aren't ginormous but bras are so much comfier measured this way than the old way.

Your rib cage will shrink back down pretty quickly, though, so you might measure smaller round the chest fairly soon after giving birth. A 34 has probably felt tight before because you weren't wearing a big enough cup. Go to Bravissimo and see what they suggest.

seasaltbaby · 02/06/2014 21:43

Ooh I'll have to try this method-not heard of it before. Roseberry, I've used bravado nursing bras both during pregnancy & for nursing, sooo comfortable. However I've realised that I hardly have any breast feeding tops, but hoping as it's 'summer' I can get away with strappy vests etc.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 03/06/2014 07:57

Seasalt, I was planning on feeding in strappy vests etc too! Last time round I wore my normal T-shirts and just pulled them down, but they got all stretched and weird after a while. Vests are better because the straps are meant to stretch a bit. I had some plain black long vests from H&M that I wore constantly. I must see if I can find some more - they were great for hiding my tummy, too! There was not a chance I was pulling anything up and exposing my tummy.

Today I have called in sick. Blush I have been really good all pregnancy and yesterday I felt rotten all day and especially all evening - dizzy, light-headed and after dinner I was queasy for hours. I couldn't even eat Mini Eggs when DH brought me some, that's how bad I felt! I feel a bit better after a good sleep and if it was a normal office-based day I'd have gone in, but I was supposed to be going out with the manual workers in their truck today and it is incredibly uncomfortable - bounces you around constantly, and is sexistly built with the seats so high my feet don't touch the ground, which makes my legs hang down and pull on my bump. I went out in it for 2 hours a fortnight ago and came back with back-and bump-ache dying for a pee from all the bouncing. I tried putting my feet up on the dashboard, which was comfy for about 5 minutes and then my bump started feeling really squashed. Anyway, this is only my second sick day in my whole pregnancy and the other one was months ago. Compared to last time when I had sick day after sick day, including a week off for an amniocentesis and culminating in being signed off for 2 weeks before my mat leave started, I think I've been doing pretty well.

Iwillorderthefood · 03/06/2014 09:35

I am going to see how it goes on the bra front. First time could not get dd to latch and the bras I bought were huge, second time got by with a couple. Of mothercare sleep bras, had some bravissimo ones but really did not get on with them. This time have bought some from h and m will see if I manage to fb, this time it will be the latching issue again, plus trying to fit everything else in too. I have stroppy vests too, so can pull t shirt up and still not expose my tummy. If I need different bras will buy afterwards not before.

too much hope you feel better soon, going out and about as was the plan today sounds like a nightmare doesn't your workplace have a duty to assess your working conditions whilst you are pregnant?

My workplace made me go through a questionnaire about my work station which is amusing as this was for the most part my kitchen table, and as I was visiting various schools in Slough, which has an increase in TB they checked all my vaccinations were up to date as well. They actually checked that I was planning to have the whooping cough jab done too. Was a little surreal.

Iwillorderthefood · 03/06/2014 09:36

Typos! Sorry, *fb is bf. Plus surprise full stop.

evertonmint · 03/06/2014 12:29

Morning all! TooExtra - that sounds uncomfortable at the best of times, let alone late pregnancy! I think a day at home is a sensible plan.

Definitely something going on at night here. Not enough pain to wake me, but I was woken by DD last night and couldn't move to deal with her as was having a contraction type thing. Definitely now a wave of pain (well, ache really - nothing like the pain of a full on contraction yet!) building slowly and dying away quickly rather than random BH tightenings. It all goes away once I'm up and getting on with the day. I guess my cervix might be slowly starting to thin and dilate but I still don't feel imminent! Baby much lower too so get tired quickly now. 38+5 today.

Darksideofthemoon88 · 03/06/2014 14:04

Morning Everton - or afternoon as it is now Smile You sound chirpy! I hope you're right and things are moving for you. I'm 38+5 today too. Saw the midwife this morning, who said that DD is as far down as she can be and all geared up for birth - it's just my body that needs to kick in and do what it's supposed to :-/ I'm a bit worried that it won't though. I've had really nasty pains for about 36 hours now, but contractions, and I've lost my plug, but nothing further seems to be happening. Worried about going overdue. Got a sweep booked for next Thursday.

RoseberryTopping · 03/06/2014 14:27

Ahh don't feel bad about calling in sick, if you need the rest then you need the rest. Hope your work was understanding and that you start to feel better soon. When do you start maternity leave?
I've been thinking about breast feeding wear as well. I've got a couple of maternity tops that'll do me for a couple of months after that are button fronts. Been to primark and stocked up on their cheapest vests to go under some baggy tops, that way I can easily lift it up without flashing tummy. Got nicer H&M tops for hotter days when layering really isn't an option. Just hope I can get in to the swing of feeding while out and about this time. Last time I felt as if I had to go to the loo or a different room, it's no fun sat missing all the fun with other people with a hungry baby.

You do sound cheery everton! Sounds very promising, hope it kicks off for you soon :) and you darkside. It'll probably happen when you're least expecting it. Try get some rest while you can.

Everton, I was the same last night and getting lots of pains today too. More regular than last week but not anything to get too excited about.
I went and got my hair done and now I'm feeling very dizzy and tired. That could be from being up half the night, all sore.
Away to have a lie down.

Iwillorderthefood · 03/06/2014 17:15

So I have a urine infection, the doctor's surgery called to tell me I could pick up my antibiotics from the pharmacy. Shame no-one called to tell me the result of the culture beforehand.

Anyway, so now I am wondering if the discomfort I have been feeling is the infection and nothing else. I am 38+6 today, and hopeful that the antibiotic course will outlast my pregnancy!

Been getting birthday party dresses for the girls today, as it is DD2's birthday on 7 July. Have just got a few more invites to write out, and the cake to organise. Hopefully I will be able to make a few sandwiches on the day of the party. We have booked someone to come and run the party, I do not think it would be much fun to have to do it all ourselves and cope with a newborn, though am sure braver people than me have done it. I on the other hand intend to make but as easy as possible for us by planning as much as possible before the baby gets here.

dark one way or another this baby is coming out, and your body is showing signs of progressing towards this aim. This very latter stage of pregnancy can be rather stressful what with not knowing when things will happen and having it all hanging over us. This is the stage that I know afterwards i will wish I had taken advantage of and done more things for me. It is really easy to forget how slow time seems to go when you are waiting for something to happen.

drama hope you feel better soon.

evertonmint · 03/06/2014 17:32

All chirpiness at Everton Towers has gone after 2 hours of trying to configure 3 car seats in our car... DD moving up to HBB and I thought it would be easier to fit than when we tried 3 with her FF seat earlier this year. But it is actually a bloody nightmare as HBBs don't have square bases and have annoying side cushions.

New car going right to the top of the wish list!

Iwillorderthefood · 03/06/2014 18:04

everton this is what we have just done as well. Waiting for a call now to confirm if we can pick it up tomorrow.

evertonmint · 03/06/2014 18:35

I've managed to get them in but it is so tight that I need to fasten the two older ones in as it's very fiddly (DS is able to do it himself now but not with an extra seat in the way) so it's just going to be a pain. What car did you go for?

Iwillorderthefood · 03/06/2014 19:17

We have gone for an s max, looked at Seat Alhambra, Citroen c4 and I liked the Peugeot 5008 (DH didn't)

A friend of mine has the c- max with 3 but not all. Of hers need a car seat. Her DH has a honda FRv which is good, but very wide.

We need the extra two seats to accommodate my parents when I go and visit them ( much easier than them going in their own car and gives my mum a break).

Iwillorderthefood · 03/06/2014 19:17

What are you thinking of getting everton?

dramajustfollowsme · 03/06/2014 19:31

My SiL has three kids and had similar problems. They have an s-max too.

We changed our second car as we had a Ka. No way could we fit 2 kids in it if we needed to.

seasaltbaby · 03/06/2014 19:37

Tooextra-wow I'm not surprised you took the day off-that does sound hard work at best of times! How much longer til mat leave? Don't feel guilty at all, your body & baby more important.

Iwill-rubbish re your infection, really hope that clears up pre baby for youHmm

39 weeks today & still nothing to report. Baby feels v low down, lots discharge, tightnings & pelvic pains but no signs labour could be on it's way....have also had hair cut n coloured today so really ready now!
Think I'm gonna wing it on the breast feeding bras/tops & if short go shopping when we're settled with baby, I have no energy now & all our big shops are too longer drive (assuming feeding is going well of course) Smile

Iwillorderthefood · 03/06/2014 20:30

drama please tell me you SIL likes her car.

evertonmint · 03/06/2014 21:53

We looked at the S Max a while ago and I did like it a lot. We have a Volvo
v70 which is supposed to fit 3 but it's so tight that I think it's just going to annoy us long term. I guess we need to go and look at all of the MPVs and see which is the best. And work out how much it's going to cost us!

Iwillorderthefood · 03/06/2014 23:00

We have a zafira, and knew from on here that we would not be able to do it. It's really frustrating as DD1 is only 5 cm from being allowed to travel without a car seat.

I know we have the seats in the back, but the things is that when we travel long distance we will need all the storage space we can get, and additionally I am uncomfortable with having anyone sitting in those back two seat when travelling on the motorway as they are in the car's crumple zone.

Hoping to hear from the car show room tomorrow that I can go pick it up. We planned for the zafira to be our family car that we would run into the ground, we only had it three years and it's only done 23k miles.

Iwillorderthefood · 03/06/2014 23:01

I am a little concerned about getting used to a new car and getting used to having three children at the same time.

dramajustfollowsme · 04/06/2014 07:15

SiL loves her car! She is on her second one now. Smile

dramajustfollowsme · 04/06/2014 07:21

Going to see the mw today. I've hardly slept in a week because of irregular contractions and period pain.
When I saw the consultant, he put me on a monitor and these contractions were big enough to register. They thought I was dilating... Looked at my notes last night. No mention of any of it. It reads, "feels fine" Confused
I'm only 36 weeks if this keeps going on I'm scared that when I really get going I won't have energy to push the baby out.
Need to ask about the messed up epidural from last time too.
I'm under consultant care and don't feel that many of the ordinary checks get done or that I get a chance to ask things. I'm ushered in and out in a hurry each time.

seasaltbaby · 04/06/2014 08:11

Drama-good luck today. Go & be a bit stroppy/emotional with mw, clearly you do not 'feel fine'. Write down loads of questions or things u want to talk about & make sure u get time to ask. I think they can rush u through appointments sometimes. Hope it goes ok.
