Dark line around lips - is this chloasma?

I'm 27 weeks pg and I've started to develop a brown line around my top lip - almost like permanent lip liner.

Is this chloasma? I've heard of that in pregnancy but thought that was quite splotchy. So far, I just have this line. Anyone else had this?

Thanks everyone

I've got a line around my armpits of all things! Yes I think it can vary person to person. I have a book, they mention some women have darker others lighten in patches.

I got this with DS, it looks like I've been eating chocolate and got 8t round my mouth. It never went away and now I'm pregnant again it's getting darker, I also have lots of extra freckles on my face

I got brown patches at the outer corner of both eyes. They have never gone away & my DD is almost 5!

I have new freckles and I've never had freckles and also look suntanned above top lip - which is not a good look as makes me look like I have a moustache - thankfully it is not too dark, but I notice it. I have bought some factor 50 suncream for face on advice of a GP.

Ah I have this exactly! I have been noticing it more and more wondered why I was getting a lip liner look. Should have known it was pregnancy related... most things seem to be eh?!

I have this too. Got it previously whilst on the pill so guess it is hormone related.

Also known as melasma. It is caused by pregnancy and by the pill. It is caused by sunlight! You need to wear complete sunblock 50+ on your lip whenever you go out.
There are creams that make your skin slough off so that the pigment is removed and new lighter skin is underneath, they aren't safe in pregnancy and some aren't safe at all!
