Petechiae

Am almost 7wks and have woken up with tiny red pin-prick like marks down my arms and across my torso. Not itchy.

Dr Google has told me that this is petechiae which can happen in pregnancy due to increased blood flow and low platelet levels.

Dr Google has however also told me all sorts of nasty things associated with it.

Do I need to rush to the Dr? Or can it wait?

Does it go away when you press on it? Do you feel well in yourself?
Its probably nothing, but I would still get it checked by a doctor.

Doesn't fade when I press on it. Doesn't itch: wouldn't notice it if I didn't look. It's worse in my armpits (on the front of them): looks almost like scratches made up of tiny red pin-pricks.

I feel pretty rough but am in the middle of first tri, so am putting it down to that! The usual (this is #3) nausea, think something has died in my mouth taste, light-headedness, constipation etc.

I have a midwife's appt Wednesday but might give my OB (am in the USA) a call tomorrow morning: don't want my liver to suddenly pack up on me or something...
