Cervical dilation

Is there any pattern or rule to how soon before labour starts your cervix starts to dilate? This is my first baby and we are expecting her a little early (currently 36+3). My cervix is open to at least 2cm, I think I lost some of my plug a couple of weeks ago (but no bloody show), and I'm suffering horrendously with cramps and sharp/electric type internal pains, but no contractions or loss of fluid or anything. Probably all normal I guess, but my god am I desperate for her to get a move on! Any advice appreciated Smile
