Horrible cold!

Ladies I'm 8 + 4 and have come down with a nasty cold and my chest is killing! Constantly coughing which is making me sick. I've had hot water with honey & lemon, any other remedies? Crazy week at work so need to feel better ASAP! X

Not much I can suggest, other than adding some ginger into the hot water/lemon. If you are coughing a lot, and coughing up gunk then I'd suggest seeing a Dr to rule out chest infection or asthma.

I had a terrible cold a couple weeks ago, hot baths & steam to clear the airways, Vicks vapo rub to sniff, and lots and lots of fluids and rest. Hope you feel better!

Just getting over vile cold too. Vicks steamer worked brilliantly so Vicks in boiling water & head over a bowl with towel. My doctor also oked a over the counter cough medicine so might be worth giving them a call to see which one is OK to take. I think halls soothers are OK as well. Not available where I am so I have been sucking on Werthers Originals. Boiled sweets help with sore throat and a cough I find if you want to stay away from anything medicated.

If you have a sore throat - salt water gargle works every time. Do it with warm water.

And lots of fluid and hot drinks as you are doing already - extra vitamin c! If you feel really bad paracetamol is OK to take but i found it didn't really do much. I missed lemsips :(
