He's asked me not to tell him..

Told DH I thought I might be pg this morning. Instead of being delighted he freaked a bit. He is finishing Uni and currently doesn't have a job but has interviews coming up. When he calmed down a bit he explained he is v excited but wants to be able to support us as much as possible...

..Trouble is...

...I am almost certain I'm pg from POAS. He has asked me to test again next weekend and tell him then (after interviews).

How do I wait that long?!?!?!

You've had a positive test?

MrsChristmasKate · 17/05/2014 22:17

Tell him to man up! I know I couldn't wait a week before testing plus keeping it from my DH would have been to hard. I don't think it's fair of him to ask you to.

Roxie85 · 18/05/2014 06:57

Is there anyone else you can be excited with for now?
I fell pregnant last year (planned) but about 2 weeks before we found out dh lost his job. He really felt the pressure and i felt bad for him.
Had keeping it a secret from him for a week made him less stressed about needing to provide for an extra mouth then i would have done it as stress can be a bad thing at interviews.
He already knows its likely so will have the determination to get the job, but i know how scared i was when we knew for sure so god knows what effect it has on a man going to an interview.
He has told you he is excited so maybe tell a friend instead for now to help him get in the right mindset for his important interviews.

It's only a week, let him focus on the current priority.

MrsChristmasKate · 18/05/2014 08:19

Thank you Roxie. ..sounds like you understand exactly!! yes I will tell a friend. DH knows it's likely too as he saw the v faint lines. I think he needs a digital to believe it so will do that next weekend :)

You've had a positive test - you're pregnant. I don't really see how you doing a digital test next week and telling him again is going to make any difference? Especially when you say he's actually seen the positive test already!

MrsChristmasKate · 18/05/2014 18:23

He doesn't believe it. neither do I truth be told!!

hubbahubster · 18/05/2014 19:49

It's practically impossible to get a false positive. You're pregnant!

MrsChristmasKate · 19/05/2014 07:48

He couldn't not know. tested this morning on a digi. BFP!

Theres nothing like a digital test to make you feel its real.
Hope you have a glorious pregnancy and i hope that dh does well in his interviews.
Try to stay positive on all fronts whatever happens with jobs etc as you'll survive.

I wouldn't worry. I lot of men take a while to get used to the idea. When I told my OH he just said ok and went back to sleep! But now he can't wait! I think it becomes real for blokes when they see that first scan. Hope your pregnancy goes well
