ante-natal appointments, how important?

just that really.

I mentioned on another thread that I'm now a bit overdue, but doc is away, midwife is a witch and the place where I'm supposed to go for ante natal apps every 2 days have de-regiostered me (but I don't mind because they strap you to a montor for 2 hours each time and the place is a nightmare to get to).

so should I try and make an appt with another doctor, or is it unlikely to matter yet? when should I worry?

am 8 days overdue by my dates and my notes, but only 2 days over by what the obstetrician said and didn't write down.

Yup - make appt - when you're overdue much better to be watched carefully just in case.

the point is the people who are supposed to do it won't. the docs don't usually do ante-natal appts here. that's why I want to know exactly how important it is.

Hi I was 10 days overdue and they ripped him out of me because of my blood pressure. If you and baby are healthy you can relax a little, however, as you've been feeling contractions, you might want to inform whom ever is going to handle the delivery that you are contracting, thay way they are prepared. The only real concern for going overdue is the placenta start to deteriorate. HTH

Incidently my mw told me they only see you once a week up to delivery to check blood pressure, urine and listen to baby's heart rate. You have been contracting though, maybe you should just ask them to do a quick listen?

they don't do phoning the hospital here - you just turn up and they draw straws on who gets to bully you into the stirrups.

that's what it was like last time anyway. apparently it's not so bad now. I hope not.

As long as you are happy with baby's movements I wouldn't be to concerned.

I went to 14 days overdue and only had to go in once a week. I don't think every two days is necessary as long as you feel okay.

or andalucia, depending on which way you look at it.
