Pregnancy Yoga or aquanatal?

Hi Ladies!

I hope all of you and bumps are well! I was hoping for some feedback on any exercise classes you have attended. Im 22 weeks on Sunday, and really starting to ache, plus all that early days scoffing I'm noticing some weight gain not just on bump but starting to generally get a little wobbly (I was size 12 pre preg so have always been a little wobbly haha!)

In my area (Bournemouth) I have seen an aquanatal class ( Dont really know what that is!) and pregnancy yoga classes. I think id rather do something in the water as I am very large bumped ( Many people have commented I look around 8 months or question if it is twins - first baby and bump started showing at 8 weeks!!!!)

Anyway - any advise class wise would be great!

Thanks!

Hello! I can't comment on the aqua classes as haven't tried any but I've been doing pregnancy yoga since week 16 (now 21) and I really enjoy it! I have a slightly dodgy back anyway and started to ache from 15 weeks and I find the yoga really helps me stretch out. It's really relaxing and I always get a good night's sleep afterwards! I only go once a week (that's all they offer). Anyway, hope that helps but let me know if you have any questions :)

Pregnancy yoga is good for relaxing and stretching out, but it generally will do very little in terms of weight gain: the number of calories you're going to burn is pretty minimal...

Aquanatal is more likely to burn some calories and help you tone up, assuming it's decent.

If you're worried about weight gain, then walk, walk, walk. Everywhere you possibly can. It's a safe, free way to keep the weight gain in check.
