I have the worst sore throat and 'face ache' made worse by heartburn and 'morning' sickness I think. I have taken paracetamol and gaviscon but are there any natural remedies out there waiting to help me?!

Frozen juice icy pops can help a little.

I've got a sore throat and cold right now and am drinking honey and lemon. It's not working great but it's something to distract me at least.

Hi

Question: is your throat sore because of morning sickness or is it a cold we are talking about here?

If the second one, steer clear from any cold drinks/foods and try gargling your throat with warm water and salt. Lemon and honey with a little bit of ginger works wonders! and ginger should help ease morning sickness too!

Almonds are great for curing heartburns.

Good question and I have no idea :-)
Morning sickness has been terrible this past week with sickness three times a day so it may well be acid related. Not sure. Just at a loss of how to relieve it! X

I feel for you polka- ive had an awful sore throat since weds and its soo bad. Mine is cold related (I'm 22 weeks and ms went before 12 weeks for me). I have some lovely herbal throat sweets that I normally use- totally numb the area- but I can't take anything except lemon and honey and some lemon and honey sweets with no active ingredients.
Sucking on a sweet helps a bit as it coats the throat as does the honey in the drink but I don't think there is much else we can try.
Will be watching out for any more tips I can borrow.

Boots do a lemsip-type drink with only paracetamol in it, it's lemon flavoured. I found it quite good, especially if you gargle with it a bit on the way down! It's in a red and white packet.

You can also have a spoonful of honey, boiled sweets or some flavours of lockets.

Thank you, will pop to boots today!

I think blackcurrant and glycerin pastilles are safe in pregnancy. They are just very soothing. I use them as bribes after medicine for the DC or if they think they are sick and need medicine but I don't agree with them Grin
