Does anyone know if the shops in Leeds city centre have maternity clothes available in store? Don't want to waste my time driving there if they dont!

h&m in Trinity, on the top floor. A tiny section in debenhams, Mamas & papas in Trinity.

Also have maternity in the Debenhams at White Rose and New look and Mothercare at Crown Point.

The primark in trinity also has a very small section (I mean like 2 racks) I really struggled to find anythin in leeds, but I don't no the city very well at all so I may have just missed bits, for example I had no idea there was a mamas and papas in trinity...

I've had 3DC and lived in Leeds city centre throughout all 3 pregnancies (youngest is 1 year old) and the maternity selection is shit and has gradually been diminishing.

I found a few things in H&M and bought some stretchy jersey dresses from Dorothy Perkins (non maternity) and a dress from top shop.

Mothercare stuff is frumptastic and mamas and papas is very overpriced.

Your best bet is to go online, whack it all on your credit card and send back what you don't want!
That way you also get to try it on in the comfort of your own home :)

Yep, I work in Leeds city centre and found it frustrating enough without driving in specially!

I got some bits from Trinity Primark, Peacocks in the Merrion centre has two stands, H&M didn't have a great selection - New Look has moved its maternity range to crown point. Red herring concession in debenhams and mamas and papas in trinity have much more choice but equally more expensive.

I am finding ebay brilliant if you don't mind second hand! And nct / nearly new type sales.

Leeds City centre is rubbish. Maternity "sections" are a bit hit and miss depending on whether the particular shop wants more space for extra seasonal displays! I've ended up getting all mine online because I was just do frustrated by the lack of choice in the stores!!

Any maternity sections you do find are likely to consist of no more than a rack or 2 and frankly it's usually crap!!

I've been through 2 pregnancies living in Leeds and it is indeed shit. And has got shitter or should that be more shit.

The places that do have anything basically have black legging and one or two unattractive/overpriced tops. It's like "there you go fatty...you've got your top and leggings now piss off".

There's definitely a gap in the market!

EyelinerQueen · 16/05/2014 12:17

Agree that it's rubbish. The Primark in Trinity has about 6 maternity items at any one time Hmm.

I don't like most maternity wear anyway though (SO frumpy and no I don't want to wear a "Hands off the bump" tshirt") so have just worn normal stuff in bigger sizes with a few nice things from ASOS.
Even the £50 Topshop maternity jeans I treated myself to are crap. I'm 30 weeks with a huge bump and they still fall down constantly Angry .

Thanks for all your replies. Sounds like its not worth the drive over! Shame, as I hate online shopping for clothing - I like to touch & try on before I buy! Plus having already checked out whats available online - there really isnt much choice except black or black Hmm. Looks like it'll be black then Wink. Thanks again.

If you want to actually go shopping shudder i'd go to white rose. They don't have loads of stuff there but definitely better than the city centre.

Hope you find something nice and not all black OP. Congrats on your pg!
