Been told to take sample to appointments by midwife but does that include the scan? It's tomorrow!

At my hospital we just do them after the scan. It's scan, wait around for a bit and then blood test, blood pressure. You could probs do it in the waiting around stage

I just had the scan at 12 weeks, no samples or checks done

Sleepyhoglet · 15/05/2014 20:36

Thank you I won't take a pot

I took a urine sample 2 every appt just in case. I also was worried if I didn't take one & they wanted a sample I wouldn't be able to do one.
It sounds silly,I know. Grin

We were told no urine samples at scans

mssleepyhead · 15/05/2014 21:44

I didn't need to give one. They took blood though!

They gave me a pot when i checked in at the desk and I was told to fill it after the scan. It was sent away with the blood tests for the 'combined test' for downs syndrome so if you're not doing that then you may not need to.

I was told by midwife to take a sample but then it wasn't needed so I did feel a little silly for carrying around my pot of wee!
You have to have a full bladder for scan so doing a sample if needed shouldn't be a problem I don't think! :-)

starfishmummy · 16/05/2014 07:31

My bladder always refuses to cooperate when asked to produce a sample...so I carried one around!!
