Dates changed at scan but i disagree?

Delighted to see heartbeat at scan! But scan dates have put me 8 days ahead of my dates, which are sadly very accurate as DTD very rare in our house. Scan dates would mean i conceived 5 days before we DTD. And that i ovulated around day 6 of my cycle!

Already referred for consultant assessment (41), so every day counts as i will no doubt face the pressure of early induction later on. Both dcs were overdue 11&5 days. Are midwide and consultant likely to listen to me about my dates? Sonographer said dates were accurate to 5 days either side.

I doesn't really matter as term is 37 weeks.

Agree with Penguin and it can be important at the prematurity end of the scale too. Decisions on steroids etc.

Sally -The OP realises that I think. She says that the scan dates mean that she ovulated (and presumably conceived) on around day 6 of her cycle, rather than around day 14. It's true that you may conceive later than you think since ovulation is not the necessarily the same as conception. However, it is less likely if the dates from the scan indicate that you conceived on a date when you hadn't had sex for long enough that conception is improbable. In my case, they were suggesting that I'd conceived nearly a fortnight after last having sex. Far less probable than the scan dates being off....
