Hi... im just wondering at what week do you start feeling baby move or get butterflies x

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I was late and it was 20 weeks. I didn't show until after that.
My friend felt hers from 8, but showed very early.
Maybe it depends on how the baby is 'sitting' iyswim?

Cortana at 8 weeks, the embryo doesn't have proper limbs and is tiny. I doubt your friend felt movement then.

The internet seems to paint a picture of movement far earlier than what midwives say is the norm in my experience.

I started feeling about 16 weeks. Tiny flutters. Apparently that's early for a 1st - most people it's 17-18. But not to worry till after 22.

You're probably right, I didn't google when she told me though, just smiled and said 'That's lovely' Grin

19 weeks

FoodieMum3 · 14/05/2014 21:37

17 weeks on first pregnancy
18 weeks on second pregnancy
This time, I felt definite movement at 15-16 weeks and then nothing until 20 weeks. (Went to get checked out at 18)

Almost 23w now and very regular (literally being kicked as I type) movement.

lolee777 · 14/05/2014 21:48

I'm 21 weeks and only felt first definite movement this week, before then maybe one or two feelings that could have been wind :-/ a few weeks ago.

I started feeling movements around late 16/early 17 weeks. I was expecting light flutters but it's more of a turning over sensation. I'm now 19 weeks and have had strong kicks and punches for over a week with a few roly polys a day for good measure.

Fissawissa · 14/05/2014 23:21

I'm 18 weeks on my 2nd & have been feeling proper kicks for the last week Smile

Boogles91 · 14/05/2014 23:36

It varies from woman to woman....i had very tight stomach muscles from my job and always being genraly fit and slim so felt our lil man from 13wks. I told the midwife and even she said it was the baby from where i shown her i was feeling little flutters. Plus i could be able to tell the differncs between wind lol and it was really low down. As weeks went on they got more stronger and prminent :) x

Fluttering at 17 weeks which has gradually developed into prods (in the bladder and cervix!) and spasm-like movements which can sometimes be felt externally. I'm 21 weeks tomorrow.

MrsMonkeyBear · 16/05/2014 05:38

I've just started feeling the odd flutter, first ones about a week ago at 16 weeks. Couple of nights ago, I woke up at 1am to what felt like a bag of popcorn going off in my belly. It was hard to distinguish between the movement and gas at first but I've got use to it now.

squizita · 16/05/2014 08:03

Vaseline Yes... why oh why do they learn to kick/push properly right on the old wee-bag? Wince!
