suggestions for present for 4 yr old from new baby?

DC3 due in the next few weeks, DS2, just about to turn 4, is being a bit anxious and difficult at the moment - we would like to smooth the way with a good present from the new baby! We are getting our older DS (7) a cheap digital camera, but DS2 has already asked for a Kiddizoom one for his birthday.
Thinking of doing a 'big brother' gift box, including a photo album, big brother Tshirt, maybe a book about babies....
Suggestions please!

Big brother box is a great idea, maybe a disposable camera so he can take some photos too and feel involved? I'm watching with interest for other ideas as our DS will be almost 7 when our baby arrives.

His birthday is tomorrow so he will already have the camera when baby arrives. I remembered that when he was born we did a "boasting book" mini album from photobox for DS1 to take in to nursery. Will do him an IOU for one of those, probably better that than a record book he has to fill in which he'll think is a chore at the moment. I've bought a Playmobil mum and baby set, and Usborne New Baby sticker book.

Anything else?

I'm stealing your fab idea of a big brother box! My DD is almost 4 too. She has asked for a Bullseye toy (from Toy Story - we had told her that Baby might bring a present) so will get her a wee one of that, but will see what other wee bits and bobs we can find too (like the sticker book). A couple of new books, which might come in handy for baby's feeding time?

I think your ideas are lovely. Anything that emphasises that he's a big brother will do the trick, I think.

I have got a snazeroo face painting set for my dd from the baby. because she has only really has facepaint on special occasions like parties or trips to the fair/zoo? im hoping she will see meeting the new baby as s special occasion! also a big sister t shirt and a pop up book. hth xx

I got DS 1 a bike when DS2 was born! A big flashy red bike and he was absolutely Over the Moon!!! A box idea is good to get him involved, but something special just for him would also be good..... DS1 was only 3 but he swears he can still remember when he saw DS2 for the first time, I think it's because of the bike!

eBay is fab for ideas. From eBay I've had a box made with my little girls name on, it came with ribbon and a tag too. Inside the box I'm going to put lots of little goodies in for her that she likes, eg, big sister hair bobbles, sweets, badges from muppets, big sister certificate, teddy and a book. I also have had a card made from eBay for the big sister!

My DS was 6,5 when his sister arrived - she bought him the box of Lego, that he had wanted for ages - it was love at first sight.
The first time we went into town with the new baby, we went to Build a Bear and he chose and made a bear for his baby sister. 11 years later its still the one she takes to bed each night - even though she has 100's of cuddly toys.

I love the Build A Bear idea, my DS adores making the bears, thank you!
