I'm over a week late on period, well I think I am, as I had only just started to keep track from my last one, as we were talking about trying for a baby. Day 29 came along - no sign of a period, now nearly 2 weeks passed that, and feeling super emotional, so decided to do a test - 3 later and all positive results ( 2 first response & 1 clear blue which read 1 -2)

But now I'm paranoid they might just be false positives. I've made an appointment with the doc for later today, but have been reading that they won't even necessarily check again and I won't be seen again till about 12 weeks. Am I pregnant??????? Really want to tell my mom, but my other half doesn't want to until everything is confirmed by doctors!!!! Don't know what to do now, don't want to get excited only to find I'm not!!!

Congratulations- you are pregnant!
My doctor said there was no need to confirm the pregnancy as home tests are as accurate as the tests they would use. 3 positive tests mean you are definitely pregnant.

Unless you've had a recent miscarriage you can't get a false positive, especially not from multiple tests! You have to have the hormone hcg present in your urine to get a positive and you only get that if pregnant!
Congratulations you are pregnant :D

Congratulations, you are pregnant!

The doctor will almost certainly just take your word for it and refer you to the midwife. Assuming you are in the UK, the next step will be a booking appointment at 8-10 weeks and a scan at 12 weeks (the midwife should contact you about these things once you've registered with her/him).

I'd say it was definite. You can get a private scan if very worried but until 8 wks they can cause more confusion as some babies have heartbeats at 6-7 wks and some a bit longer. I think you should relax BUT do tell your mum if you'd tell her if anything went wrong anyway - the wait to 12 wks IMO is only for people you wouldn't want knowing if you had a mc/work/acquaintances although everyone feels differently about this. Congrats and fingers crossed!!
