Hello, I have just found out that I'm pregnant on my second round of IUI, so very excited! I usually take supplements daily but am now unsure whether to continue with them. I'm seeing my GP in 2 weeks and so am seeking advice from you wonderful ladies in the meantime:

Omega 3,6 & 9
Probiotic
Collagen

Does anyone know if they are safe to take during the early stages?
Thanks
Camsie x

Folic acid is very important for the first 13weeks to help prevent neural tube defects.
Vitamin d is very important for your whole pregnancy as due to the lack of sun we don't have a huge amount of vitamin d and tend to bra. Bit deficient. This does affect the fetus/neonate and can cause long term problems for your child so current advice is 10mcg vitamin d per day and continue whilst breastfeeding.

You can buy folic acid and vitamin d together in sainsburys.

You don't NEED any other vitamin if you eat a generally good diet. Pregnacare etc are full of a lot of rubbish. Take the omegas if you want to and probiotics, not sure about the collagen.

Folic acid after 13weeks in pregnancy are associated with tongue ties in babies
