Reduced fetal movements

Hi :) I'm currently 30 weeks, 1 day. I usually have a very active baby, although I have an anterior placenta. However, today has been different. He hasn't moved as much as he usually does. When he moves, they are intense and there is no mistaking them. but today there have been no intense mpmovements and just a couple of tiny flitters (as if it was first baby movements). I have a fetal doppler, which I used and his heartbeat was between 120-130, for some reason there was no fixed bpm, they just flicked from those numbers. I had a growth scan yesterday and everything was fine, but he was in the footling breech position. Should I call my midwife, or if the heartrate is there is everything ok? And can something really be drastically wrong even though the scan was fine yesterday? The hospital is ages away from me with no transport, so I don't know whether to trouble someone to take me.Thank you. Katie??

If there are any changes as to whats normal for your baby, then it really does need to be checked. I'd ring and go in. Good luck.

I'd ring your OOH MW for advice! You should have a number on the front of your notes?

Ring them, they will tell you what to do. I have done this a few times (also have an anterior placenta) and they were always great and very understanding. They will probably get you to try a few things at home before calling you in.

I'd ring, worth it just to set your mind at rest

You should never use a foetal doppler for reassurance. They're just for fun.

Reduced movement should always be checked, even if baby was scanned yesterday.

Call the number in your notes asap and be prepared to pop down. They'll most likely hook you up for an hour to a couple of machines to feel for movement while you get a button to press when you feel movements too.

Don't wait. They won't think you're wasting their time.

I rung the hospital and was told if there was still no movement within half an hour to ring again and come down. Weirdly, he started to move as normal 5 minutes after. It was very reassuring. I saw my midwife the next day and she checked me out and his movements have been normal ever since. Thank you all very much :)
