Sorry to whinge but there is nobody else to share with who would understand!

Bit of background - I have GD again in second pregnancy. Am 37+6 and my care is supposedly consultant led but I have never actually met my so- called consultant in this pregnancy or last!

Went to see my consultant clinic again today expecting to get some kind of resolution on dates for induction as this is what I was led to believe from my last appointment two weeks ago.

Instead I saw a random locus AGAIN, who seemed more interested in making my DH like him by cracking jokes about pregnant women and hormones! He gave us no indication of anything, saying that everyone does things differently(!) and instead made another appt for next week!

So annoyed as I thought today would give me some sort of peace of mind. I know that I will be induced but not to know when this close to the end us madness, especially as we gave childcare to organise. And my DH took another precious day of holiday. Can I complain? Would it make a difference????? Gah!

I would complain, or at least raise concerns. You're consultant led for a reason! Question them why you're consultant led and the thinking behind recent appointments and their aims. Write a list of questions beforehand so you're clear in things.

If you feel genuinely offended/uncomfortable or that he was unprofessional in regards to his 'rapport building' skills, this should also be raised in my opinion.

Good luck, just try not to get too stressed out by it.

Sounds like my hospital, I am consultant led, have weekly appointments & scans but have yet to sniff the actual consultant, today the whole clinic was staffed with junior doctors that had to double-check everything with the reg.

When my GTT came back positive I was told I'd be induced at my due date - as my blood glucose levels haven't been raised at all since the test I won't agree to the induction so need to discuss it with the consultant. I was 36+6 today and nope, nothing - the induction hasn't been mentioned at all, nor do I know who I can even discuss it with.

I'm happy enough to see how things go for now, but I agree with Lozmatoz, if you need to know now and need to organise for it definitely complain and ask to see someone who can give you definite answers!

I am slso consultant led and not seen the same one twice I was emotional yesterday as everyone is singing from different hymn sheets and its frustrating her words were dnt cry if others see you it will make me look like a bad dr! And she then went onto say if u aren't positive then this isn't going to end well and u could end up loosing everything so it made me feel evn worse! I have high bp and being watched like a hawk for pre eclampsia and my midwife tells me out at 34 but consultant says 37 no induction c section no option!
