Start asap! Try anything with cocoa butter - Dove do a good one or vaseline do a cheaper one. Smile

I've been using some Burt's Bees stuff as it's fairly natural it have now moved onto bio oil since I've been getting fatter.

Makes no difference re: stretch marks I'm afraid. You either get them or not. Mostly down to genetics.

They say they're heredity and if you're going to get them you will but there are things you can do to lessen them like moisturise and not put on too much weight. I started with Palmers cocoa butter, probably at around 12wks, even at that point I didn't really have a bump. I now have a fairly decent, hard bump at 25 wks and mainly use bio-oil but also have a tub of Cussons mum & me bump cream which is more soothing than the oil when the bump is itchy!

They often only appear in the last fee weeks too when you're quite self congratulatory about having avoided them! Sods law. If it's any consolation mine did this but then faded to a very pale silvery colour as I regained my pre-preg weight (took a while that!)

I just used whatever I grabbed first in the morning.

Good luck x

You often get them in last couple of weeks. I got mine in last week or so. They're not bad though. My mums were awful. I used bio oil religiously.

This time around I am using pure coconut oil, you can get it for a fiver and its packed with vitamin e and lovely!

I oiled religiously and still got them. A topical treatment just doesn't penetrate to the level that the stretch marks appear - they form deeply, not on the surface. 'Not gaining too much weight' wasn't within my control as got awful water retention with DC1. Luckily I have pretty good skin normally so they've faded really well. As other posters have said, they often pop up v late on, mine certainly did - just as I thought if escaped!
