Hi all,

I'm 17 +2 and all day I've felt like I've been 'leaking' shall we say. I have put tissue in my pants and it got a little damp, but not too much.
I have been sitting down a lot today, so maybe sweat? (gross) I've also needed to pee loads and I have some weird period type cramping very low down (not the usual growing ones). Do I need to go to hospital or GP? Or do I just need to calm down and this is really normal?
Freaking out as an anxious first timer...
Thanks for any advice!

I would call your midwife. She will be able to reasure you.

It's quite normal to feel very damp, but I'm on my third time and I freaked out like crazy when I had a sudden 'gush' at the weekend. Like MAD googling of PROM and everything. Anyway, I would also recommend your midwife or the assessment unit at the local maternity unit. They can check quite easily that it's not your waters (and it's almost certainly not). You could also try the dark underwear test - normal discharge dries a sort of light colour. Sweat won't of course, and you will be a bit sweatier than normal! Amniotic fluid has a very distinctive smell, but as a first timer, you won't know what that is. Oddly, cat amiotic fluid smells the same. Anyway, I digress. Your midwife will not mind reassuring you at all, so give her a ring :)
