Im due this Friday but have a feeling im going to be very overdue! Just wondering when the mid wife would allow you to be induced. First pregnancy and do not want to go up to 42weeks ! so uncomfortable at the moment and keep getting water infections the minute i come off the antibiotics. :-( will she let me be induced a few days after due date? x

Depends on the policy for your area - it might have it in your notes, possibly if you look at the page which tells you what happens at appointments.

At my hospital you can be induced from 10 days overdue. I had a MW appointment at 40+3 and she made my induction appointment for the following week, at 40+10. I don't think it always happens like that though - you may wait until 10 days over, have another MW appointment and be booked in for induction then, within the next couple of days.

Most community midwives will be willing to give you a stretch and sweep once you are overdue to see if that will start you off. You're not normally booked for full induction in hospital until 40+10, unless there is a medical reason to do so.

In my area it's 40 plus 12 Hmm. I went for a midwife app at 40 weeks exactly and was given a sweep then I was booked in for a induction for when I was 12 days overdue......I went naturally at 10 days overdue.

Your doc should also prescribe you a propholactic for the rest of the pregnancy, i have a massive history of utis etc. so know that this should be the thing to do

I went for a stretch & sweep at 40+5 and they booked my induction there and then for 41weeks. That may have been due to my blood pressure though.
