Morning sickness: when does it end?

Really just looking for reassurance that it does end? I'm 13 weeks and was hoping it would be over by now. It's not every single day anymore, I'm having a few days a week when I think it's finished then it starts again. Bothing in partocular seems to trigger it, or help: foods that go down ok one week really, really don't the next!

Please tell me it does end soon?

Do you want the answer that will make you feel better or the truth? Smile

soundsystem · 06/05/2014 14:10

The truth please. At least then I can plan. Everyone told me that in the 2nd trimester it would be plain sailing and stupidly I believed them. Now I have loads on at work and socially (mostly based around eating!) and I'm not relishing the prospect!

1st pregnancy I was still throwing up during labour (hyperemesis though) - sorry!

Current pregnancy - was terribly sick during first trimester, but as I hit the second I gradually started feeling better and was pretty much ok again by about 16-17 weeks.

It's different for everyone, I'm afraid. Hopefully it'll be soon for you though x

Ok then, 1st pg it did subside a little during the 2nd trimester but came back for the third. Was still vomiting for a couple of hours after the birth.

2nd pg went about 16 weeks Smile

GingerRodgers · 06/05/2014 15:02

20 weeks was my last everyday vomit (although have had a few sneaky ones since Hmm) but the constant nausea is still here at 22+ weeks.

Cookiepants · 06/05/2014 15:05

My morning sickness cleared up the day my son was born - sorry OP. I did find it was easier to identify triggers later on.

Purpleroxy · 06/05/2014 15:06

Either 12,14,16,20,24 or not at all. I was still puking when I went to hospital to have her!

scrufhead · 06/05/2014 15:07

I'm still projectile vomiting at 24 weeks, sorry Sad Sad

soundsystem · 06/05/2014 15:14

Oh dear! Well, thanks for your honesty, everyone. At least I'm prepared and if it does go sooner I'll be really pleased!

I'm 11+4, not as far ahead as you are OP, and the morning sickness (more constant nausea) seems to be coming to an end, I'm just totally exhausted all the time and have no energy.

Kels13 · 06/05/2014 15:24

17 weeks and still struggling on. Getting sooooo tired of it now. Hope it eases for us soon!

mssleepyhead · 06/05/2014 16:28

They lie about the second trimester thing. I think 16-18 weeks is more of a turning point. If it helps, by 20 I was feeling much better and at 24 I have different problems but definitely nothing like the first trimester. Keep going! It feels like forever but hopefully you're really close to the end now.

icklekid · 06/05/2014 18:02

Still going at 31 weeks however I think I'm the exception not the norm Sad

mrsmonkey14 · 06/05/2014 18:48

Sorry, still sick here at 32 weeks. Pregnancy sickness til 18 weeks then acid reflux vomiting since then… I really hope you are one of the lucky ones OP - hang in there x

jessplussomeonenew · 06/05/2014 18:55

Don't give up hope yet! I'm proof it can finish at 13 weeks too, and from about week 15 I have been feeling almost normal (and normal feels utterly wonderful compared to the first trimester!) Huge sympathy for anyone for whom this didn't happen though!

CoolCat2014 · 06/05/2014 20:06

A lot of people finish around 14 weeks I believe.... Week 22 it stopped for me!

Redling · 06/05/2014 21:35

I didn't feel totally done with sickness until about 16 weeks. Still throw up if very tired or been pushing myself too hard, about once a fortnight.

weebairn · 06/05/2014 21:36

I was still having some days of it at 13 weeks but it was all gone by 14-15. Fingers crossed same for yoU!
