Being told the sex at scan - how accurate?

Hiya,
I am expecting my 2nd in October and unlike the first time, I wanted to find out the sex of this one (mainly for financial reasons )
So far I have been told at the scan - probably a girl, the midwife has said that the heart rate indicates a girl and my mum even paid for a 4d scan, which also said probably a girl - but I am still not sure!
I do feel like this one is a girl but am wondering if anybody here has been told the sex at the scan only to give birth to the opposite? Any comments

ive only ever had the normal scans and found out with all 4,and they were all right about the sex

I had a normal scan every 2 weeks with DS and they said he was a girl right up untill 32 weeks! Eeek! He was a Phoebe and then turned into a Jack!

I rang DP at work and said,

'i don't mean to alarm you but your daughter has grown something she shouldn't!'

Oh Charlee - don't say that - the last scan I had was at 30 weeks, and they said that they should be able to tell by then because the genitals would be quite enlarged, this means I still can't clear out ds's things and buy pink! Anyone else been told the wrong thing?

lol at csss..!!!! We were told dd was a girl at the 20 week scan as well as the 3d/4d scan at 28 weeks.

Both won't be 100% sure but I think the 3d/4d ones are more accurate. I do know of people who have been told it's a xxx only to find out it's a xxx...
All we did with dd was to keep receipts of clothes we bought etc. BTW most places will xchange items bought for the wrong sex. If you make them aware when you make the purchase. Thats all we did.

Lol M2T it's ok they have bben right with all my nieces and nephews, they usually say there about 80% sure when they guess in a normal sacan and more in a 3D one!
