Hello, I'm thinking of signing up for a 5/6 week active birth course with a company called Lazy Daisy. The course will be in SW London or Kingston Surrey.
Has anyone been to these classes, did you find it helpful?
Thanks

I'm in SW London and it's £60 for a 5 week course I think.
I'm doing the course just for pregnant mums but they do run couples courses too (not sure how much they are)
Good luck with the pregnancies everyone and hope you have positive birth experiences

I did a Daisy Birthing course last year in Kent when pregnant with my 2nd baby. (I had a really negative birth experience with my 1st and joined up to try and relax and learn some breathing techniques to help on the day). The classes were very relaxing but I was also learning lots of things that I'd missed the first time round! I went on to deliver the day after my due date- natural water birth with just a few puffs of gas and air- VERY different to my first labour!:-) I used all the breathing techniques I learnt in class and only wish I'd known about these classes when I was pregnant with my first baby as I'm sure my experience would have been better. I also did a group Couple's Workshop with my husband which really helped prepare him for the big day too! Enjoy and best of luck x

Thank you Joanna I'm glad you had a good experience the second time around, I'm hoping for the same!

Thanks AlwaysDancing & Nearlyreadytopop, it was so much better second time around. I would go so far as to say that I actually enjoyed my labour and would love to do it all again! (If that doesn't sound too weird?!) Our family is definitely complete now though:-) I think the Lazy Daisy classes really helped- I have been recommending them to all my pregnant friends ever since! Hope all goes well for you both x

I did lazy daisy classes in Kent last autumn and would highly recommend them. It was the most relaxing part of my week, and made me feel confident about giving birth so it took away some of the stress of pregnancy! I ended up needing a pre term emcs (didn't get anywhere near labour unfortunately) but although I didn't get to test out the active birth side of things, the breathing/relaxation techniques got me through a very difficult period including helping me to stay calm during the surgery itself. I also feel that, by understanding the active birth techniques I can have a more informed discussion with the drs about some aspects of a vbac in the future.
