Elective Caesarean in Cornwall

Am I right in thinking it would have to be in Treliske Hospital Truro?
Does anyone have any experience of having a Caesarean there? It looks like I will be moving before my babys due so I will be new to the area.

Treliske is the only hospital in Cornwall that does sections (I don't think there's a private option but don't actually know on that one). The other option would be Derriford hospital, just over the bridge in Devon. It depends where you live and which your preference is.
No personal experience of either I'm afraid but sure someone will come along soon with some.

Thanks I will be near Helston so Treliske would be closest

Yep Treliske is the only one in Cornwall and not too far from Helston.

Generally everyone I have spoken to says that labour ward is fine, but maternity ward can be a bit understaffed.

I guess many NHS hospitals are facing the same problems.
I have never heard anything alarmingly worrying about Treliske though.

When are you due? If you get a chance I would book in for a tour and see how you find it.

I'm due in September and will be moving down in August I'm hoping it's going to be a easy process getting a new midwife and consultant

Hope the move goes well. I'm due in November, if you ever need a chat with anyone local feel free to send me a PM.
