False positive with sainsburys digital test?

I took a sainsburys digital test last night and it came back positive! Took the second in pack this morning it was negative. So went out and bought a clear blue digital, negative again! I'm gutted. Anyone got any experience of false positives? I'm 15 dpo af due yesterday!

I was told by the gp that it was not possible to get a false positive as the test detects a hormone and you have to be pregnant to produce the hormone. It is completely possible to get a false negative though. You are very early though so that could account for the conflicting results, but if one was positive then I would say, judging by the advice I was given, that you are pregnant Smile .

Digital tests are a bit unreliable IME. Grab a First Response and try it in first morning urine. Good luck!

Agree with Fanta above - false positives don't happen, it's likely that you had more of the hormone in your system when you tested with the first test (could be time of day for example).

Wait and test again - I tested about ten times before I got a BFP and was nearly two weeks late!

I agree, buy a first response. I find them much more reliable.

another one to recommend First Response. they r more sensitive than a digi.

try in the morning

If you still have the packaging, check the sensitivity of the two tests - it's possible that the Sainsbury one is more sensitive (lower number) and picked up levels of HCG the clearblue isn't sensitive enough to detect, which would mean you are indeed pregnant!

I used a sainsburys digi one then a cheapy then a clear blue digi the most I've ever spent on one and it put me behind the others so id say try first thing in morning, I even woke up needing a pee at 4am and did one and it was positive couldn't got back to sllep after that
