I think they are suppost to be because eveything is more stretched/lose etc my 2nd one was...

bananaloaf · 27/08/2006 15:45

i was more uncomfortable early on with 2nd preg, but on the good side ds2 born in 4 hours compared to the 30 odd with ds1

juuule · 27/08/2006 15:56

Mine weren't and I've had 9.

Angeliz · 27/08/2006 15:57

Hi pol
My second was more painful than my first. Doc wouldn't prescribe anything for heartburn and aching pubic bone(?).
My third however has been a breeze really, had ranitidine for heartburn and still had achey pelvis but not as bad. The afterpains after the birth for a few days were horrendous though! Very painful and i was told by the midwife that that's normal.

I'm fine now though (6 days later)

JUUULE ...9....!!!! omg..!! Take my hat off to you..!!

BTW I thought everyone was talking about the birth being more painful..being pregnant with my 2nd I started to panic.! I can cope with the pains before and aftre (i think..!) but it's the birth I want over with asap.!!

Auntymandy · 27/08/2006 17:52

Juuule 9? wow how do you cope dh says I have enough with 5 and so does everyone else but.......... I wouldnt mind another!!!!!
oh and Pol, dont think its worse I think every pregnancy and birth is different

prettymum · 27/08/2006 18:04

with the gas n air, the time flew by with 2nd dc, i was 2 busy hallucinating about dc1s birth to notice the pain.

it was easier during dc2 birth because i knew what to do, and have to admit dc1s birth wasnt too bad either, compared to other experiences i heard about.

just take advantage of the gas and air!!!

divastrop · 27/08/2006 20:03

im pg with my 5th and i would say the only thing that was more painful were the stretching pains right at the start, which have got worse with each one,but apart from that theyve all had their good/bad points and been different each time.i'd say the birth bit defo gets easier with practise though(pleassse dont let me regret saying that in 6 months!)

eidsvold · 27/08/2006 22:29

i was more uncomfortable 2nd time round - more due to the fact dd1 was only 6lb 1/2 oz and dd2 was 9lb 7oz - so a big difference in size!!

Beauregard · 27/08/2006 22:33

Yeah i was really uncomfortable with dd2 especially down below thanks to varicose veins.

sweetkitty · 27/08/2006 22:37

yes it was with me, DD1s pregnancy was a breexe even with SPD, DD2's was much tougher but I was pregnant 4 weeks more with her and she was 3lbs heavier than her sister. Heartburn was worse, SPD was worse, had loads of BHs for the first time, loads more aches and pains, SPD was horrendous plus I had an 18 mo to look after.

But on the plus side second labour was 2 1/2 hours, (4 for DD1) and only had a slight graze down below and felt fine afterwards, seemed to recover much better.

PinkTulips · 27/08/2006 22:39

2nd was definitely worse than first. both were awful but ds was far bigger and i had a toddler to run around after in the middle of a heatwave! he did far more damage to my hips than dd and they're still sore 4 weeks after birth
