25+5weeks possible mucas plug loss :/

so for the past week or so i have had very heavy discharge and then earlier when getting ready to get into th bath a blob of as i would discribe clear greenish tinged snot like mucas came away from me.....and i then noticed more little bits in the toilet each time i go.

this is my 3rd pregnancy but i never had this with my first two.

would u say this is my mucas plug and what should i do about it :/

I doubt anyone here could give accurate useful advice Tia. I suggest you serk medical attention ASAP. If it is your plug, labour can be slowed down/stopped and the baby supported, or they can reassure you everything us ok. Good luck.

What lozmatoz said. If it's a sign of early labour you will need steroids for the baby's lungs. Don't take no for an answer, I did and my waters went the next day at thirty weeks.

Even if it's nothing better to get checked.

i have been reading up alot since and i seem to read that the mucas plug can regenerate i dont have any pain and baby is moving aroud as normal, i dont really see myself going into labour anytime soon was jst looking for some advice on experiences with this really.

p.s also feel abit silly ringing when i have no pain or other symptoms. x

I would ring for advice OP. I didn't have any pain when i lost my mucus plug either, but had DS a few hours later. It's worth getting checked out as you're only 25 weeks. It's probably absolutely fine, but need to be sure.

You're not silly at all, this is perfectly acceptable reason to call, they'd rather you did, even it it is just to reassue

Just a bit of reassurance for you, I had this on and off from 25 weeks and now have a very lively 3 year old who was born at 41 weeks.

The show I had just before labour was very different

That's what my community widwife told me that's why I didn't ring. When I went to hospital the next morning with my waters broke they said I should of come straight in.

I think they can check internally to see if it's fixing itself.

I've had a couple of incidences of this (at about 34 weeks), am now 36 weeks and haven't gone into labour. I did call my midwife for advice though, you should speak to an expert!

How are you today 3rdty ? I hope no one panicked you. I think when you have a bad experience you worry it's going to happen to everyone.

3rdTym you should have the phone number of the local labour ward or out of hours midwife.
To give you a example of something they told me to come in for - a bit of blood when I wiped at 16 weeks. They looked up there, decided all was well and sent me away.
It would say they will definitely see you for this. If not, you're well within your rights to go to an A&E of a hospital with maternity and wait.

In your shoes (and I have also heard the plug can regenerate and some women have one which drips for several months) I would do this.
Even if - as it seems - nothing is happening, at least they can ensure against infection and put your mind at rest/update your notes.

Please call your midwife/maternity assessment team for advice. It's their job, you're not putting anyone out. There are no stupid questions, especially if you're worried.
