Hi all,
I'm after a little advice if any of you can help, I am 33 weeks pregnant with my second child. My son is 7. His labour was a silent one and was extremely easy. At the moment I have a few things going on which are hard to explain, I have nausea and horrendous diarrhea, the cramping from it woke me up.
I have dull period type pains and I can't tell if I'm having tummy tightening or if it's baby moving, although it's lasting a little long for a baby movement. I also have very heavy legs and feet, they almost feel numb. No swelling or bleeding. No loss of fluid or anything like that. I don't have another midwife appointment for a week and am a little concerned.

it does sound a bit worrying...

is there an out of hours number, or an on-call number you can ring?
if not, then call first thing in the morning and explain the symptoms and ask if they can fit you in for an extra appointment.

hope the symptoms ease up a bit and you can get some sleep

Call labour ward now and ask for advice from the midwife on duty. The number will be on your notes and will be a 24 hr number. They won't mind and it will give you peace of mind. They may ask you to go in to be checked but it's always best to be safe than sorry. Good luck!

Thank you, I rang the maternity unit and they advised lots of water and rest and if symptoms persist go straight in. I managed some sleep but on the sofa not in bed, was too warm. My partner is working local today so is available if I need him, little upset tummy left and nausea but much better. Maybe just a 24 hour thing? X
