im approaching the 12 week mark(on monday)and i feel like a hormone on legs.i went to the zoo with the older kids today and nearly started crying at the sight of baby peacocks(?),then later i had a slight misunderstanding with a woman over queue-jumping and i was fighting back the tears.i got home and my dp asked if i was ok and i started crying, even though i was really happy and had been laughing my head off at something moments earlier.he asked what hed done to upset me,i felt really silly.does any1 else have these probs in pg?or am i just generally nuts?

Quite normal IME. Wear shades.

Cailyn3 · 25/08/2006 21:26

Normal - frustrating, but normal! I'm at 15 weeks, and I cry at everything, when my kids are being cute to each other, things I read in the paper - a beautiful poem in the paper made me sob for AGES last week! Say that something just got in your eye, gives you a good excuse to rub like mad and recover!

Elibean · 25/08/2006 22:14

I cried on the way to nursery with dd this morning at the words 'happy and safe' in a Beatles song
No, not nuts, but definitely pregnant!

nearlythree · 25/08/2006 22:18

I cried at 'Save All Your Kisses For Me' when pg with ds

MoreTeaAnyone · 25/08/2006 22:20

I cry all the time and I'm not pregnant (although I really want to be)

emmawill · 25/08/2006 22:23

With both my pregnancy i use to cry at adverts and i couldn't watch anything remotely sad or happy as I would burst into tears and I was never a soppy person before it was really embrassing and I hate to say this but it got more and more throughout my pregancy.

1Baby1Bump · 25/08/2006 22:39

normal, you just feel silly.

lusciouslynda · 25/08/2006 22:56

Overheard dh telling dd to "stop crying all the time, you are just like your mother". Had to try really hard to stop my bottom lip trembling.
Crying is good for you, imo.

Gingeme · 25/08/2006 23:07

I cried at everything at the beginning of my pregnancy. I mean everything!!Now Im nearing the end of my pregnancy Im doing it all over again. Watching Jack and Sarah on E4 and crying my eyes out but then it is a realy sad film anyway.

pennygaff · 26/08/2006 17:00

reading this thread is making my eyes fill up! OMG better go

divastrop · 26/08/2006 17:38

i couldnt watch jack and sarah what with being pregnant.i had to give up watching casualty and holby city when i was pg with dd2 cos if there was a sick baby or something went wrong in someones pg i was a total wreck.but i was on my own then so nobody thought they'd annoyed me again...its hard work trying to explain to even the most sensitive, understanding man that im crying for no reason!

OMG I've just read this thread and remembered being 14 weeks preg and stomach was getting bigger so my clothes were really uncomfortable. Went shopping but maternity clothes were too big. Came home with nothing and locked myself in the bathroom and cried and cried. I mean sobbed my heart out into a towel so dh wouldn't hear me. Of course he knew the minute he saw me and my eyes were puffy for hours after it. I was so freaked out that I cried like that. I also cried to the song at the beginning of Home and Away and when Nana Moon died

emzickle · 26/08/2006 20:27

Gingeme - Jack and Sarah made my DP cry... should I be worried?

redz · 26/08/2006 20:30

Dont worry completely normal, I cried all the time in my first trimester, (eg if I found a spider in the house I was off!) by my second trimester I was ok now im 37weeks and if im not crying im shouting and swearing! you cant win.

TidyJane · 26/08/2006 20:38

I definately cried when Nana Moon died, although not pregnant at the time, but now (10 weeks pg) I cry at every single episode of Eastenders (not all the way through of course).
I also cried a hell of a lot during my first pregnancy (Eastenders, Corrie, sad songs).
You feel really stupid but a lot better afterwards (I always try to hide it when possible).

Gingeme · 26/08/2006 21:56

No emzickle you should be grateful you have such a sensative dp. I cried today watching my 2 year old ds playing so beautifuly with a little 1 year old at the park today! 9Im 31 weeks preg. Did you cry too emzickle? I just love that film.

divastrop · 27/08/2006 17:28

DH is used to it and suppose as I am only 18 weeks I have just a few more tears to shed.! Dh looks at me like I'm mad and says to dd, oh dear mummy is crying again..!!! LOL.

SophieB · 27/08/2006 18:24

I nearly started crying at the X factor the other night, it was over a 16 year old lad who was really nervous and couldnt sing! My partner thought id gone mad!

shhhh · 27/08/2006 20:29

I DID cry at that..!!!

typhoonsmum · 27/08/2006 22:08

Hi I am 5.5 weeks preg. Was watching Five Children and IT with DD yesterday and found myself welling up when they wished for their dad to come home from the war.
When I was preg with DD I was in tears when Sally's DIY shop burnt down in Coronation Street (Remember that) I can remember telling my DP - thru the tears- "that that was her livlihood. How was she going to support her family now."
