Tiny bit of brown spotting after bowel movement

Hi guys, so sorry for the tmi but I'm sick with worry!

I'm 20 years old and 10 + 2 with first baby. I've had REALLY bad constipation and yesterday I noticed after I wiped there was literally the tiniest bit of discharge with a little bit of brown blood in it (definitely from vagina). I've had no cramping or anything at all.

I just wanted to know if anybody knew if this was normal or not?

Sorry again for tmi, embarassing!

Thank you

I'd say you were probably straining and old menstrual blood got pushed out. Spotting is not uncommon in early pregnancy.
If it gets worse or painful go and see someone but otherwise I'd put it down to that.

Ring the MW or hospital just to explain - sounds like nothing but just in case.

But I had this twice and am now 20+ weeks. It was just constipated straining.

Try half a small wineglass of prune juice before bed every night, and fybogel (from Boots) daily for the poop issue. :)

I've heard this Is common . double check with gp though :)

btw I'm 20, 12 + 6 with dc 1 pm if you'd like to chat with someone in a similar situation :)

I've had exactly the same think 3 times, I mentioned it when I was at the doctors and she just put me on lacalouse, since then I've had nothing! Hope this helps x

Thanks guys! I haven't had any at all since! I also realised I had sex two days before which I've read can cause irritation to the cervix, which could explain why this 'old blood' got pushed out whilst straining? I tried to ring my midwife but couldn't get through, so I rang my mum who is a midwife and said it was fine and normal and not to worry too much.

Thanks very much, I will try the prune juice etc!

and alita, it's nice to know somebody is in a similar position! I swear I am the biggest worrier but I guess with being young etc the odds are in my favour, here's hoping! I was so shocked when I found out and had no idea what I was going to do but I'm so excited now, and hope to god everything is okay! xx

Cactus worrying Is normal :) I've been borderline neurotic for weeks :p I had pink/ red spotting early on and had a scan at 6+5 which showed a heart beat :) then a little more Spotting at week 8 but managed to convince myself it was my cervix. I had an mmc before so I was terrified about my scan but last Thursday I saw a healthy wriggly baby :D today I got my doppler in the post and heard babies heart beat, which was seriously reassuring :)
