Getting induced for the first time tomorrow and scared!

How should I spend today? Cleaning like mad? Sleeping?

How can I stay relaxed?

Sleep!!!! Get as much rest as you can, I was induced and if yours goes like mine you'll be in early labour by the afternoon and won't be able to sleep overnight. My timescales went:

Night before - couldn't sleep (mistake!)
6am - arrive hospital
7.30 - pessary in, walk around a lot as it gets this moving
2pm - period pains
4pm - contractions started
8am next day - ready to go to labour ward
12 - actually went to labour ward (they were busy)
3 - waters broke
6 - drip put up and epidural given
1am - baby!

Good luck with it all, if you have any questions feel free to ask, it was my first too and the whole process was ok, I had a bad delivery and had to go to theatre but this was more due to the baby's position than the induction. Just try and rest before it and as much during as you can. Walk around and try to eat if you feel like it to keep your energy up.

You'll have your baby soon!

Oh and to relax I just listened to music and bounced on the ball they gave me. I used a tens machine, if you do, I would advise not taking it off until you go down to delivery if you can as it's only when you take it off you realise how good it was.

Hi stretchy, this is actually dc3! Didn't need induced with other two. Of course I could go into Labour by tomorrow but I doubt it. Baby far too comfy!

Oh sorry, read it wrongly! You're an old hand then, good luck, hope it happens quickly Smile

Chill out as much as you can. Induction can take quite a while and you need to be as rested as possible. Plus it might be your last chance for a while with 3dc to run around after!
