Just wondered if any had experience of this. I am utterly exhausted all the time despite getting at least 10hours a night and at least a quick nap in day if not a good few hours[3hrs today]. I had low iron with ds and dd so started iron tabs 3x400mg 3weeks ago to see if it was that but it has not made a difference. Ok granted it is my 4th pregnancy in 3yrs[one mc] but I just feel like something is going on internally as I am completely exhausted all the time and people are starting to comment on how worn down/tired I look.

PG knocked my thyroid function out. I wasn't producing any and felt like you. Get your thyroid levels checked. It's easily and safely treatable, if it tunrs out to be that. Good luck.

Hi Nemo, I feel the same as you and you have my sympathy. I'm just into my 3rd trimester and have felt completely knackered the whole time. With DS & DD I was ok except for the 1st 12 weeks. I'm on my 7th pg in 4.5 years (4 mcs). I had my thyroid tested and blood for anaemia but all ok so I just think it must be having 2 DCs to look after and the mcs that have taken it out of me. Could also be age - as my dear mother keeps reminding me - as I'm in my mid-30s! Maybe you can ask your GP if there are any other tests you can have as well as thyroid, gestational diabetes for example? I'm getting that done at 28 week check. Good luck, I hope you feel perkier soon.

I slept from 9pm-7am, had breakfast and a shower, back to bed by 10am-1pm had lunch watched some telly or read a book for the rest of the a/noon when I was pregnant, for most of the time.

I was like that with my first. I used to lock the door to my office at lunchtime, and lay on the floor and go to sleep . I was totally and utterly exhausted.

It did ease off sometime in the second semester - but came back towards the end.

I did not have low iron levels.
