Does anyone drink coffee while pregnant? I'm 14 weeks and still have one a day. Just looking for advice on what others do

Definitely don't feel guilty freaked! Apart from anything else, as others have said our Mums knew NONE of this stuff and we came out OK. We are talking about tiny effects. I bet we all do riskier things every day because we either have to (e.g. Driving to work, crossing roads) or we don't know about them yet (who knows what they will come up with for our daughters to feel guilty about).

My favourite story is a colleague who was waiting for her friend at a bar, and had a total stranger came up to her and tell her off for drinking during pregnancy and then stormed off. Best bit: she was drinking orange juice!

Light a friend also had this. It was quite scary in her case, at the time, the woman (all about protecting the child) was about ready to hit her (!!). She was drinking fake shandy of Becks 'blue' + lemonade, looked like beer.

After it calmed down the woman gave a parting shot about not drinking anything that looked like booze as that was immoral (for some reason). No awareness that going up threatening to hit a pregnant woman is immoral! Shock

This is the danger of the Daily Mail style scare story, it breeds a high-horse-don't-get-the-facts mentality which makes people unhappy and at risk of verbal abuse.

Thanks squizita, I've seen the risks are small. Its a shame there have to be so many rules and recommendations around being pregnant. Always feel bad if i don't get it quite right. Still I'm 29 + 4, so not too far to go now x
