Measuring small at 36 weeks

I'll be 36 weeks tomorrow but my bump is only measuring 33 weeks on the tape measure, and hasn't grown in the last two weeks. Baby is still wriggling about lots though.

The midwife has referred me to a consultant next week. Should I be worried? What could be causing this? Could it mean I can't have the home birth I'm hoping for?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

I've no official advice only my own experience, with both my pregnancies I always measured 2-3 weeks less than my dates and they weighed 7lb 5 and 8lb born within a day or two of due dates.
Midwifes were always a bit worried but said it must be how I carry my babies.
Im not very tall and quite slim but I have short legs and a long upper body think there was just alot of room for babies in there!

I measured small with both my children and had to have extra tests to make sure everything was ok. DS was 7lb7 when he was born so quite average really. The extra scans for DD actually found she was much bigger than they expected and was almost 9lbs at birth. Hope this reassures you a bit!

Thanks for the reassurance! It is good to know that others have been in a similar position and been fine. I'm also quite small but have a very high rib cage so hoping that might be why.

Time to step away from dr google now before I scare myself silly Smile
