Hi ladies I had a emergecny c section 9 days ago.. I'm a lot better than I was but it's still very painful. I know recovery time is six weeks, but did the pain last for 6 weeks.

I feel utterly useless at the mo any bending is pain ful and whilst my hubby is at work my mum is coming over to help before she goes to work.

Just want to feel normal again.

My tummy is still very tender and now my back is killing coz it's the only of position I can sleep. It's so painful turning on my side lol

I didn't really have any pain post c-section and didn't take the painkillers. I put it down to so many nerves being cut that I couldn't feel anything but moving about did give me waves of nausea. I also couldn't do much for longer than 9 days ie I couldn't get up out of a chair while holding DS. I couldn't turn on my side in bed without completely sitting up first. Don't know if that helps but congratulations and take things very slowly.

I was in a lot of pain for about two weeks both times, then it got a bit easier, by three weeks I could sit down without bracing myself against something. At four weeks I was dragging my toddler out of her cot (sat on floor and dragging her over the lowered bed rail), walking with the pushchair for about 20 mins, managing relatively normally to look after both children, although with v limited lifting of DD (18 months between them).

As for feeling back to normal that's only really been fairly recently - around three months. That's when I felt ready to exercise again anyway.

It will get better xx
