Is anyone else drinking loads? I feel unable to quench my thirst at times. I'm peeing for England though Hmm thirst seems to get worse at night too.

I have always had to drink more whilst pregnant, I think it is normal, if you are further along in pregnancy you will have quite a large volume of amniotic fluid to change regularly :)

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 26/04/2014 22:23

It can be a sign of gestational diabetes. Maybe mention it to your mw just to be sure.

MummyV18 · 26/04/2014 22:55

I'm only 12 weeks. thanks I will mention it to the midwife Smile I wasn't sure if it was normal or not

if you can't quench your thirst it should be investigated.

mummytobejuly2014 · 26/04/2014 23:16

I was like that at the start & also felt really warm all the time (in nov&dec!!) I sort of outgrew it. I still aim for the 2ltr a day of water tho

Boogles91 · 27/04/2014 04:05

Yep i had it from those stages after my ms went. Although its a sign of gd, other than that its a normal part of pg....

PuppyMummy · 27/04/2014 09:56

being ridiculously thirsty was my only symptom in the first few weeks. It went off after a while but its back now in the 3rd trimester!

I don't hav GD...

BumpNGrind · 27/04/2014 10:40

I had it for a few weeks around the same time, and it seems to have gone back to normal now. No gd here.

RedPony · 27/04/2014 22:31

Yep I am also ridiculously thirsty all the time! I can quite easily drink 3 pints of water all in one go. I have mentioned it to my doctor and midwife and neither of them have seemed concerned

AmberSweet · 27/04/2014 23:25

Another one here who is ridiculously thirsty all of the time! My midwife doesn't seen to be concerned either.

I was thirstier then normal in the first trimester, eased off a little in second and now I'm 38 weeks and thirstier then ever! Also same as you in that it gets worse at night.

I've been drinking big glasses of water or squash with lots of ice. I also find that ice lollies ease the craving also!

I was going to post the same thing today. I'm 27+4 and soooo thirsty, & it's not because I'm eating particularly salty foods.
Didn't realise it was a sign of gdShock will have to look into that
