Sore boobs...some days. Nausea...less days. Knackeredness...some days. I'll be 7+4 on my scan day.

Badhairday76 · 12/05/2014 19:43

Hi everyone. Glad to hear things seem to be going well for most people on here.

Val - just wanted to say that I know exactly how you feel. I nearly went mental in the weeks up to the 12 week scan because I had no symptoms whatsoever. I still don't at 18 weeks and I am currently panicking over the 20 week one because have yet to feel the baby move. It's natural for us to feel like this, of course, but I know it doesn't make the agony any easier. I know you will continue to worry, but just wanted to extend my empathy. Xxx

nobeer · 12/05/2014 19:47

Val that sounds ok. I'm a bit knackered but not as bad as I know others have been. I'll be thinking of you a week tomorrow.

Thanks ladies! Bit of a control freak finding it hard to deal with having none. And the pessimistic thoughts of if it is going to go wrong then it is probably decided ready and I have no influence over it.

Ferreroroche123 · 12/05/2014 20:37

Val, I totally understand how you feel. I had a MMC last year at 9.5 weeks and during the early weeks I was verging on insane over my symptoms coming and going.

I attended many an "emergency" or reassurance scan in tears convinced it was all over because my nausea or boob soreness had gone away.

My husband grew more than a few grey hairs.

Hang on in there.

Ferreroroche123 · 12/05/2014 20:39

Sorry, I should clarify that I mean during the early weeks of this successful pregnancy I went insane.

BeetlingAbout · 13/05/2014 13:39

Why is this JZ lift incident in the news headlines?! Confused

OP posts:
Ferreroroche123 · 13/05/2014 13:46

I have no idea.. It is so random.

nobeer · 13/05/2014 22:13

What?! I've missed this news so am confused!

Badhairday76 · 14/05/2014 08:26

Is this Solange beating up JayZ? Ha ha - I think she had just had one too many bevvies and got carried away. Hope you are all well. I've been getting very quietly stressed out about the birth and have had to have lots of fights (though not Solange style!) to get to speak to a top consultant and actually be listened to. Anyway, have finally been downgraded to 'low risk', despite the lost pregnancies and tubes, IVF and disastrous birth last time, which is what I wanted. If any of you are having similar problems, I can tell you the various conversations I've had and how I got them to come round to my way of thinking. The first doctor wanted to C section me at 39 weeks, but am now being allowed to attempt a natural birth and have been told I have a 70% chance of success. Am also fighting to go in the birth centre, rather than the labour ward, but am waiting to see how 20 week scan goes.

Hope you are feeling less anxious today, Val!

Xxxxx

That whole situation is just bizarre.....

Bad I am so pleased for you!! Bugs the anticipation is the worst part. Ferrero, that is a lovely picture!! Beetle, how did the stitch go???

I went to the clinic yesterday to get more drugs, my consultant saw me and asked if I wanted a cheeky head count scan (in advace of my 'official' early scan next week). Of course I said yes. Saw one baby with a heartbeat Grin Actually measuring slightly ahead.

I was intrigued so when I got back I googled 'high hcg levels in early pregnancy with a single baby'. Well.....that was about the most stupid thing I could have done as the main thing is that is it is (one of the many) indicators of Down's Syndrome. Great. Something else to add to the panic list. I am an idiot.

Badhairday76 · 14/05/2014 10:23

Oh blimey Bugs - I didn't know it was that bad! I haven't seem the footage. My DP just told me she slapped him. Not condoning violence against men. Well, I guess I was, but am retracting! If you are happy to be induced, Bugs, then that's cool, but be aware that you are totally within your rights to refuse and be treated as any 'normal' pregnant woman, who would be allowed to go to either 10 or 14 days over without intervention. I'm allowed to go 10 days over before a repeat section which has put my mind at rest a great deal. Am hoping I go into labour just before the due date to avoid all this stressing!

Yay Val - that's great you saw the heartbeat! And step away from Google! My midwife had a 'serious chat' with me about Down's Syndrome and terrified me, but it was, of course, absolutely fine (as in very low risk).

Beetling - hope the stitch went well for you. I don't envy you having to have that procedure done, but I bet it will give you huge peace of mind.

Ferrero - amazing picture. You have inspired me to get a 3D scan. Do you mind if I ask how much it cost? X

Val, that's great that you saw the heartbeat of one bubs. HCG levels can be totally different from one person/pregnancy to the next, the main thing is that they are rising.

For now try be positive that you saw a heartbeat and you HCG is strong showing good pregnancy.

Badhair - thanks. The basic scan was £95 but I paid extra for a DVD and some bigger photos. However, I am around London area. Baby bond are all around the country I think and start at around £59?

I however am a snob and will pay more to go somewhere with the latest equipment etc... Still didn't buy me a cheerful sonographer! Lol.

eurochick · 14/05/2014 12:39

Wise advice from bugs there. Seeing a heartbeat is a hugely positive sign.

I've had what I can only describe as very mild period pains since yesterday afternoon. There is no rhythm to it, so I am putting it down to ligament pain rather than prem labour (although of course I am menkulling about the latter).

Thanks Ferrero! That is way cheaper than I expected. I live in Central London so will def check our some prices. Shane about the grumpy sonographer. I am an old arsey teacher and would probably have said something to him/her in my teacher voice!

Bugs and Euro - aches and pains are super normal and is usually your ligaments stretching to accommodate your growing womb. I had a lot of that with my DS But not much this time, which must be because it's already stretched (like some other things!)

Hope everybody is enjoying the sun xxx

talulahbelle · 14/05/2014 17:26

euro bugs I'm a little bit further than you, I get achey bump pains if I'm on my feet too much, it's all the stretching and growing of the bump going on.

I am just so tired at the moment, coming up to 30 weeks, my bump isn't that huge, but I have no energy at all. I wouldn't even be eating dinner if DH didn't put it in front of me.

I have a consultants appointment a week tomorrow to discuss the date for my c-section, eek.

eurochick · 14/05/2014 17:54

Thanks ladies. I've had lots of stretching pains but nothing like the "shivery pain" I get when AF is on the way before. I'll just put it down to one of those things for now! I got my re-test back (first one showed a urine infection but by the time the results came through a week later I felt fine so asked for a retest) and they were clear so it's definitely not that.

Belle, I guess you will be meeting your baby in about 9 weeks then. :)

I hit 25 weeks tomorrow. I handed in my MatB1 this week and have emailed my bosses about my plans for mat leave. I also ordered the NCT bedside crib rental today and bought some sheets for that and a baby birth - my first baby-related purchases. Eek.

Ferreroroche123 · 14/05/2014 18:13

Bad hair - London Ultrasound Centre in Harley Street is the best I have experienced. They do great DVDs which are edited with music and I still watch my sons one 5 years on.

I am going back there on Saturday to try an get a better experience than I had last week in Marlow.

But they are pricey.

Worth looking up though if you are keen.

vallinnapod · 14/05/2014 19:44

Not been yet but My Ultrababy seems to be the most reasonably priced in London! Had good experiences in my first PG with Babybond in the City. Wasn't impressed with their branch in Purley...but they did discover my MC which may have coloured my view!

nobeer · 14/05/2014 19:45

Finally read about J Zed (as my mum would call him). I'd never heard of Solange so felt a bit like my mother then. It's all quite odd. Families, eh?!

Val I'm so glad you got to hear the heartbeat! Now step away from the google. Like the others say, just concentrate on the positive.

Tallulah Eek not long now! Sorry you're feeling so knackered, glad your DH is looking after you.

Euro that's exciting about the crib and the sheets! Hope your pains are just stretchy uterus ones.

vallinnapod · 14/05/2014 19:47

Bears are you lurking? I know you are a fellow Clexane sufferer buddy. Just wondered how long you were being advised to take it for? No discussions here. We are reviewing my drugs after scan next week (7.5) - reducing the masses of Oestrogen I am on probably but my consultant has said he'll keep me on everything until at least 9.5.

Anyone been told why you carry on with the oestrogen after FETs? I understand progesterone supports the pregnancy and would, under natural circumstances, be produced by the corpus luteum. But with Oestrogen I thought it's purpose was to grow follicles/lining and then it would decrease?
