If it is any consolation I relaxed considerable when PG with DS when I felt him move regularly at about 22 weeks. When I say regularly he was incredibly quite in utero (makes up for it now!) and I spent a large portion of time at work laying on the floor in the disabled loo as he only moved if I was laying flat on my back!!

This time I have an anterior placenta....I have actually felt her move since 13 weeks but not regularly....and not at all today. Really hard not to go mental Grin

nobeer · 20/07/2014 08:56

val "her"?!

I think I felt mine move yesterday. Not sure, could have been wind! Anyway, I'm fairly convinced it was baby so that's good enough for me!

vallinnapod · 20/07/2014 09:40

Yes!! She's a 'she' Smile Found out with the harmony test.

Now to get rid of 3 years worth of boys clothes!

nobeer · 20/07/2014 15:56

I'll let you know if I'm having a boy Wink

time2deal · 20/07/2014 16:26

Mine's a boy. Can't wait to meet the little man!

ThoughtfulOne · 21/07/2014 18:05

Just hopping one for quick advice - any of you ladies done FET. If so when did you stop progesterone and oestrogen? I've called my ACU but they are taking ages to respond and I just want to canvas opinions. I hate the progesterone and oestrogen - convinced it's making me more queasy and I've now passed 12 weeks.

nobeer · 21/07/2014 18:24

Hi *thoughtful. I did a natural FET so only had progesterone pesseries. I'm fairly sure I stopped them when I went to the clinic for the 7 week scan. How are you doing apart from feeling queasy? If it makes you feel better hopefully not worse I still feel a bit crap from time to time and I'm now 19 weeks!

vallinnapod · 21/07/2014 19:46

Hey thoughtful, stopped them both by week 13...tapered in week 11 and 12. I was on shed loads though....

Gestone - alternate days - stopped week 9
Oestrogen patches - week 12
Progynova - was on 12mg - week 9 went down to 10mg, week 10 to 8mg, week 11 to 6mg and stopped at week 12.
Cyclogest - 3 daily - week 11 two daily, week 12, one daily. Week 13 stopped.
Clexane stopped week 13
Aspirin stopped week 14

ThoughtfulOne · 22/07/2014 10:29

Thanks ladies. I finally got hold of ACU and they told me I can just stop. It's a bit scary.

Ms seems to be getting worse. Actually vomiting quite extensively now. Also cramping today. All very concerning. Ridiculously busy at work and not told anyone yet. I'm scared of their excitement and them thinking I'm fixed now (4 pregnancies no kids yet). Am I being silly?

BeetlingAbout · 22/07/2014 12:20

Thoughtful, it is very worrying when stopping the progesterone. My clinic had me stop at 8 weeks both pregnancies, many go on to 12 weeks. Lots of people say that the progesterone gives them pregnancy symptoms even before transfer, so I would expect that it could worsen the symptoms. Hopefully you will find out over the next week after stopping when the MS disappears

I am sorry for being AWOL recently and not keeping up with everyone. I had to bury my head in the sand and get past the 18 week mark which is when it all came crashing down in November. Once i was past that stage I then thought I would just keep my head down until after the 20 week scan and so on! I would love to be able to stick my head in the sand until 28 weeks, but it's just going so slowly.

I am 23 weeks tomorrow and except for being on my third round of antibiotics Hmm things are hopefully going ok. Not had a cervical length scan since 18 weeks, and the scanner wouldn't check for me at 20 weeks, so i am holding my breath until my cervical scan a week on friday. I freak out with every twinge or low kick (and there are a lot of those).

I so hope that all the lovely ladies here are doing well and that your babies are doing exactly what they should be.

I will be joining the blue brigade too - i think i only make boys Grin

Beetle congrats on finding out bubs is a boy!

Out of interest was your 20 week at Kingston (can't remember if you moved hospitals). I am keen for a cervical check (pure paranoia). UCH did one as standard at my 20 week scan with DS but things seem very different at Kingston. Rather Blush but I actually have an anomaly scan at 22 weeks booked at the FMC as I lost a bit of faith after my NHS 12 week one. It's an extra 50 for a cerivical evaluation, which I will go for if it isn't checked at 20 weeks (well, 19+5!)

23 weeks is an amzing milestone. I can't begin to imagine how hard the time around the 18 week mark was but you are 5 whole weeks further on. And only 1 week away from viability.

I am still annoyed with my anterior placenta. I get some movement - large, swishy movement, but can't feel any kicks and it isn't consistent. Toying with hiring a doppler but I am 99% sure it will do more harm than good. Despite the lovely MW saying I could go back to hear the HB I feel like a paranoid fraud to go back a week later. My bump is definitely expanding so I need to relax a little.

BeetlingAbout · 22/07/2014 16:24

Hi vall, they didn't check my cervix at the 20 week scan at Kingston. You only get a 15/20 minute slot and a cervical scan is internal so they refused to check. Also, it's £5 if you want pictures...thankfully they take card payments as I wasn't expecting that!

I think a home doppler could cause more worry. When I saw the consultant at 17 weeks to beg for cervical length scans, she couldn't even find the heartbeat with her doppler and had to get the mobile US scanner in. I don't think I took another breath until we saw all was well on screen!

How is everyone coping with the heat? I'm living on frozen grapes!

bugs!! Nice to see you back here, and bringing lovely news too. Euro, if you're lurking or when you pop back CONGRATULATIONS!! hope you recover quickly and sending all my positive vibes so you and centime can get home soon.

eurochick · 24/07/2014 16:14

Hi all. I lost this thread for a while.

bugs has told you my news. After an incredibly stressful week in which the dreaded CS was put back several times (once when I was on the way to the hospital and then several times on the day they eventually did it) centime was delivered at 21:37 a week ago today. She was a teeny tiny 3lb6 but only needed breathing support for a few hours after birth and is doing really well. She has been in and out from under the jaundice lights, but that is par for the course for a premmie. It's hard to see though as she clearly hates it and thrashes her little arms and legs around the whole time. The biggest challenge has been getting her eating. Babies who aren't getting all they should through the placenta tend to "brain save", which means other things don't develop as they should. We were warned that at her gestation it would be the gut that struggled and they were right. For the first few days she couldn't keep anything down (and had one horrible choking incident when I was holding her, which terrified me). However, she is now tolerating milk and they are upping the amount each day, and her weight is finally moving up rather than down. My life is now that of a dairy cow, as I'm attached to the breast pump every 2-3 hrs. Mooooooo.

Everyone told me the CS wouldn't be as bad as I expected. Unfortunately, it was worse. The spinal took ages to work, worked well for about 20 mins while they got the baby out, then wore off while they were stitching me up... I then had a horrible time in recovery, reacting to some of the drugs they had given me, including throwing up, which was the most painful part of the whole process. However, my recovery has been amazing (probably helped by surgeon who thinks he is god, and the fact that the incision did not need to be large for such a small baby). I was up at showering at 6am (having finished being stitched up at 22:00 the night before), and up and walking around that afternoon. A week on and I've got a few twinges as the expressing is making my womb contract but you would absolutely not know I had major surgery a week ago. I'm just waiting to see my GP to see if I can get signed off to drive, as that will make going to see centime a lot easier.

So it has been a crazy week or so. I don't think I have cried as much during any period of my life. But she is here, and seems to be doing well. Now we just have to fatten her up and get her home!

resipsa · 24/07/2014 18:56

Yay! GrinGrinGrin

vallinnapod · 24/07/2014 20:47

Euro I am so pleased that Centime is here as safe as she could have been. All the best people are born at 34 weeks and are jaundiced ME!

You deserve a speedy recovery after what sounds like a not pleasant c-section experience. I have everything crossed you are both home together as soon as possible.

BeetlingAbout · 25/07/2014 07:46

Euro, you've done it! You have made a beautiful baby girl. I am so pleased to hear that Centime is doing well, and i really hope it won't be long until you are home together, and a new chapter in your lives can begin in earnest as a mummy and daddy.

Please keep updating xxx
