Euro - thanks. You're so close to the 32 week point that I hope you're feeling better about the short term future. Centime is going to come out when good and ready, it seems!

vallinnapod · 26/06/2014 14:05

Oh Res. What horrible news. I really hope that the treatment and recovery periods go as well as these things can. Life has really dealt you a shit hand Thanks

Badhairday76 · 26/06/2014 14:15

Res - so sorry to hear your awful news. It's hideous when life keeps piling more horrid things to deal with on top of you. As others have said, I really hope your DH makes a speedy recovery.

Hoping everybody else is well. Xxx

nobeer · 26/06/2014 19:08

I am so so sorry res. Get well soon to your DH and remember to be kind to yourselves. That's one hell of lot for one family to go through in a lifetime, let alone over 6 months. Thanks for you.

resipsa · 26/06/2014 20:59

Thanks guys - weird part is that we've now (in 48 hours) done a U turn on further treatment if the prognosis is OK but not awful or great. DH agrees to freeze sperm and maybe try DE cycle again. Life is strange.

PS Decision helped by the fact that if prognosis is OK then DH gets a six figure payout - yeah, I was staggered too - from a work-related benefit which is fax free and which you don't gave to die to receive (there's another one for that - sorry for black humour attempt). So, in my better moments, I get DH for ever, DC2 and Chanel!

nobeer · 26/06/2014 21:10

Grin black humour totally allowed res!

Hatteras · 26/06/2014 22:11

Res - hoping we will see you on here in the future telling us about DH, DC2 and the Chanel!

What a horrible time you have all had recently, I think you are allowed all the black humour you want. Wishing you and DH all the best, for a good prognosis, speedy recovery and then DC2 Thanks

nobeer · 27/06/2014 10:01

My turn to mental. I've got a bit of beige spotting going on - not had any since implantation. I'm hoping it's just catheter irritating my insides. We had a scan yesterday and could see it moving around and heard the heartbeat. So I'm sure it is just mentalling. Got midwife in half an hour so will mention it to her.

nobeer · 27/06/2014 11:54

everything fine at midwife Smile. No more mentalling for a while

vallinnapod · 27/06/2014 13:08

LOL Glad all was fine nobeer. You still in hospital?

nobeer · 27/06/2014 18:47

Home now. Got to have the catheter in for another week and continue with the antibiotic until then too.

eurochick · 27/06/2014 20:07

That sounds fairly hardcore nobeer but it sounds like you are on the mend.

Black humour is definitely the order of the day, res. How interesting about the turnaround. I hope that once your husband has recovered, this will be a turning point for you.

AFM, I can't say I'm feeling any better about it all, but I'm reaching a state of resignation, which is probably the best I can hope for.

vallinnapod · 27/06/2014 20:12

Ah Euro. I am sorry. At this stage and for about a fortnight afterwards everyone (incl. you) is obsessed about the birth and then it really does disappear as you are submerged in the new baby bubble. I totally understand what you wanted by this part being as natural as possible after the medicalised conception.

When is your next check-up/scan?

eurochick · 27/06/2014 20:24

Next scan is on Monday. I'm sure that it won't disappear. Everyone said I wouldn't care about (reluctantly) having IVF to conceive once I was pregnant. I do, very much, and I am certain I will feel the same about CS. My mw is going to help me line up counselling afterwards.

resipsa · 27/06/2014 20:53

Oh Euro - I feel for you as you obviously know yourself better than anyone. I feel that I can say with confidence, however, that whatever affects you adversely about the birth and aftermath will recede in time. I had a retained placenta, haemorrhage, immediate post-delivery surgery (didn't get to hold DD for more than 2 hours), complete bust (pun intended) at BFing then mild PND. It is all now forgotten and I look back quite happily.

Wishing you all the best whatever happens and don't lose sight of the miracle that is centime.

TheScenicRoute · 27/06/2014 22:25

Hi, I'm new to mums net. I gave up forums 3 years ago and have been through 4&1/2 years of IVF. BFP on my 6th treatment!!! Whoop whoop - unbelievable! I'm brand-newly pregnant 4+5 and terrified of loosing the pregnancy. I am very envious of those pregnant ladies who are so excited and giddy, what I'd give to feel like that!

What does MENKULLING mean?

vallinnapod · 28/06/2014 11:16

Hi scenic! Menkulling means mentalling...not really sure where the baby-speak version came from Confused

Well I have cracked out the maternity clothes. I had forgotten quite how amazingly comfortable my mat jeans are!! No wonder I have 3 pairs (in different colours!) Grin

nobeer · 28/06/2014 15:40

Welcome and congratulations scenic! I think the mentalling refers to the ludicrous high levels of anxiety we feel as our pregnancies were that much harder to come by.

Val I've been wearing some borrowed maternity trousers and lots of elastic waistbands for about a month! Most of my summer clothes are fairly floaty and roomy. Too hot here for maternity jeans but am going to get some when I visit the UK later in summer. I saw some cheapy ones in Primark but as I was only 4 weeks back then it felt a little like tempting fate.

vallinnapod · 28/06/2014 18:54

Mine are Seraphine. Not cheap but massively worth it - esp this pregnancy. With DS I was only in mat clothes for the summer so I have lots of summery clothes. I'll be really needing Autumn/Winter type clothes this time. That said I am massively bigger than I was with him. I didn't buy any mat clothes until way after my 20 week scan...

Bearsandhoney · 03/07/2014 22:53

It's very quiet in here ...

How was the scan euro?

How's your dh res?

Welcome scenic!

Glad the scan was all good no beer.

Val: glad your scan put your mind at rest.

Afm: nothing really to report. We had our 16 week appointment last week and I was reassured by hearing the heartbeat. I think I can feel movement, as there is a rolling sensation from time to time. Its hard to say, but I think it's the baby swooshing around. I cold be wrong though!

Hope everyone is well.

nobeer · 04/07/2014 09:52

Morning all!

I've just had my catheter removed this morning Smile What a relief! I've managed to have a little wee and feel very proud of myself Grin Hopefully this means my bladder is working normally and I won't need to retrain it.

bears how exciting about feeling the baby move! And isn't listening to the heartbeat the most wonderful feeling? No movement here yet, but I'm hoping I'll start feeling something in the next couple of weeks or so.

val I had a look on the Seraphine website (just on the sale section - trying to be sensible). Nice stuff on there! Might have to treat myself to something Smile

nobeer · 07/07/2014 11:59

Hope you've had a lovely weekend. I've been taking it easy over the weekend but am venturing out this week to catch up with friends Smile

How are you getting on euro? And beetle if you're lurking, are you ok? Haven't seen you for ages.

Hope I haven't killed the thread with my wee talk!

vallinnapod · 09/07/2014 12:08

Hey ladies...this thread dropped off my list. I would type more on here but I worry my insane ramblings would be more off putting.

Glad to hear you are cathater free nobeer - can I ask some TMI? When you were at home and had it in did you have a bag? Sorry if this is dumb Blush

I am obsessed with weeing at the moment in that I cannot believe the amount of times I am going, sometimes 3 or 4 times in an hour Blush

So my current stress is leaking fluid....although could be wee...I had a scan yesterday (14+4) and she just looks really squished. The sonographer said it was the angle (didn't ask about fluid). I am terrible...really want to relax Sad

eurochick · 09/07/2014 12:19

nobeer I'm glad the weeing is getting back to normal.

val it is almost certainly wee or discharge. I've had a lot of moments of feeling wet when walking and it has always turned out to be loads of discharge (lovely).

Scenic congrats on your BFP. My pg is a 4th round win. What we put ourselves through, eh?

bears that sounds great. I didn't feel anything until about 19-20 weeks, but once I did I found myself starting to relax a teeny bit.

time, beetle how are you doing?

AFM, I'm being scanned every couple of days. I was at one point booked in for a section this week, then we got a second opinion and we are back to regular monitoring. I have stopped going into work now and am just doing a little bit from home. We're only likely to get a couple of days' notice of needing to get the baby out, so it made sense to try to wind down a bit.

vallinnapod · 09/07/2014 12:32

Sounds like you have been through an emotional rollarcoaster Euro, are you feeling OK? Glad to hear bub is getting some more growing time - everyday is a bonus.

Thanks for the reassurance. I know in all likelihood it is wee/discharge - I clearly like a panic!
