starting to get concerned

Im 24+2 weeks and today bump hasn't been very active

Yesterday he was active at his usual times, maybe a little more especially after eating a Easter egg, but today hardly anything!!

I'm starting to worry about how quiet he is, my other problem is I'm not in the UK right now so am a little lost at what to do?

I've tried all sorts to wake him up, ice cold drinks, sugary snacks, heavy carbs nothing or a very small response.

I do have a anterior placenta but have been able to feel him just fine till today.

Any advice??

I had exactly the same at 24+0 and went to hospital. They were lovely and checked me out. I didn't find out I had an anterior placenta until 36 weeks...if you are worried get checked out just to put your mind at rest. Take care.

Who does your antenatal checks? Can you call them? I'm sure that all is well, but most practitioners will prefer that you check.

I think I went for my first movement check around 26 weeks - it was boiling hot weather, I'd not slept for days and I was convinced that something was wrong. All was fine, but no one made me feel bad for checking. I think they do sometimes have quieter days - that was certainly my experience, but I can't tell you to use that as a reason not to get yourself checked over if you can.

I live in the UK but have come to France to sort some stuff out, I return back to the UK on Saturday.

I've just had some ice cold apple juice and a Belgian waffle smothered in honey to seen if that gets a reaction over the next hour. If not I'm going to have to try and seek some sort of medical care, my French is good but not good enough to talk about obstetric history

How did it go? I remembered that very deep breathing a also used to wake my baby up during the night.

I've had some dull movements but not his usual midnight boxing match that he seems to have, I've spoken to DP who isn't with me and have decided to fly back to the UK tomorrow as I'm not happy with the reduction in movement over a 24 hour period. Even if it turns out to be nothing I rather get it checked I think.

I had an anterior placenta with my first. And sometimes I didn't feel him for up to 48 hours. Sometimes I got him to move with ice cold water or sweet stuff.
I was told by the hospital that at 24 weeks it is a little to early to check for regular movements..

But better check out to be on the safe side..

Good for you. I'm sure it's nothing (the three times I went, that baby was bashing around all over the place within minutes of a monitor going near him), but I know the anxiety, and you're doing best to be checked.

I had a similar scare recently, I called the midwife team who told me to go to triage at the hospital. They put me on a trace and did a scan - was all totally fine. The usual advice is if you're concerned, have a quiet lie down for an hour on your left side with a cold drink and you should feel your baby move in that time. If you're concerned, please do seek some advice or see someone. I felt a little silly after because baby decided to be its usual bouncing self as soon as I got to hospital, but midwives were lovely and told me never to feel silly, and to always get it checked out just in case. They would rather you disc this than wait several days before seeking attention.

Im sure everythings ok chuck. Im 28wks today and about 3 out of 7 days, our lil man hardly moves! The. Other days he will be wriggling non stop. I been told sometimes its where the placenta is and if he moved positions you wont feel it as much. Aslong as i feel him at night i dont worry as i know hes ok. Ive found aswel when im watching tele or doing things hes active but if i have a day of doin fek all hes not so. Mabey hes getting into a routine or something. If your worried you can always get checked :) as they get bigger youl notice the movements changing slightly to more swishy like movments rarther than loadsa kicks x

Could you buy a Doppler over there?
