Just thought I'd find out ... we currently live in an area that is not very culturally diverse (I have not always lived here and so don't have any family here) our baby is going to be mixed race ( black mum ,White dad)and I am concerned about our child not identifying with anyone and I would like them to have a healthy mix of people around them ...any advice, opinion experience would be most welcome .

Where is South Lanarkshire? Is it East Kilbride and Hamilton etc? If so, I think you're right. I can't remember seeing anyone who wasn't white there. Do you drive? Could you get out and about in Glasgow and meet similar families that way? Your HV might know of similar families you could get it touch with. Sorry - not much help.

Thanks MrsMuddle ,
I'm in Hamilton,Glasgow is only 20 minutes away on the train and getting about would'nt be a problem if it meant meeting up with other families like ours, I'll keep looking around thanks for the advice
