Maternity Compression stockings in a larger size??

Hi all. Am currently 29 weeks pregnancy and have a lovely varicose vein on my ankle that is about to ulcerate. Have seen my doctor and she has told me to get level 2(30-40mg) compression maternity full length stockings asap to prevent this.
I have been to the pharmacy who has advised me these are not available on the NHS so have been looking to purchase online.
I've looked on Pebble UK however as I'm larger they don't seem to stock my size and other sites are charging upwards of £80 for one pair which seems extortionate to me!
Does anyone have any idea where I might be able to get them for less than this as I can't afford for the veins to get any worse?

Have you tried mothercare? I got a pair of support tights from there and they seemed to have quit a big range.

These stockings are available on the NHS on prescription so you will be able to get them for free with your Maternity exemption.

Although you should really have a Doppler test of your circulation first if you have not had this already to ensure the correct pressures and size for your needs.

If your Doctor is unable to help try your Midwife or Practice Nurse?

I haven't tried Mothercare.
Really coconutsponge? I might go back and double check with my pharmacist then - they aren't cheap. I haven't had any tests but had some issues before falling pregnant with veins

Yes, I know this from working in District Nursing. As mentioned above, I would ask your Doctor for a prescription although the Practice Nurse or your Midwife may be more able to help as it is not usually GPs who deal with this. I also would not recommend compression stockings without a Doppler assessment of your circulation first, again your Midwife or Practice Nurse should be able to help more than the GP really.
